Dorney Park vs. Sesame Place?

Hey there! DH and I are going to be taking our FGs to an amusement park this weekend! We both LOVE Dorney Park and usually go once a year, but since this time we have little kiddies with us, we want to make sure we go somewhere kid friendly but fun for us, too.

I've never been to Sesame Place, but I looked up the info and it seems pretty small, most of the rides are for very young kids, and it's outrageously expensive- $53 a pop unless you bring a baby under a year old. That's crazy talk to me!!

Dorney Park is 1/2 hour further away which sucks but it's wayyyy cheaper $36 per person or $23 for a kid under 48' and we have coupons from Wendy's in addition to this. I see that Dorney has the Snoopy play area. Does anyone know how this is? Would Dorney be good for my little munchkins? For reference one is 5 and they other just turned 8. TIA ladies!

For a 5 and and an 8 year old I would do Dorney Park. I think Sesame Place would be a little too young for the 8 year old.

They just went to Splish Splash a few weeks ago, unfortunately because that's where I wanna go! I looked up Hershey Park and it was 3 hours away!! We're not staying overnight so we figured Sesame Place or Dorney are close enough.

dhs boss kids are 8 & 5 and they always go to sesame place. they love it there they have been going for a few years. dorney park has a lot of kids rides too.

Nope- even a one day pass is $53! They are both the same price which is ridiculous! I was shocked!!!

or if it doesnt need to be a 'theme park', i HIGHLY rECOMMEND the NY HALL OF SCIENCE in Flushing, Queens!!! it is awesome - lots of fun - educational - adn they have a whole outside play area too!

great for both ages - and adults!!

oh, and its cheaper too!

great for both ages - and adults!!

oh, and its cheaper too!

LOVE the Hall of Science. These two girls are pretty much our kids. lol! We've taken them to the zoo, aquarium, hall of science, mets games, etc., etc.

We were thinking Six Flags, too, but we really wanted to do a water park and it's a separate ticket completely for Hurricane Harbor. You can't even get like a 2-park discount ticket! It's nuts!

o mannnn. okay. well then i think dorney park is fine! as long as there are water rides and rides for them you will be fine and you know they will have a great time regardless since they are with you (and they dont know the other park to compare it to!)

Nah we left after the 7th inning stretch, and after getting ice cream in a helmet.

How old is your niece? As long as you buy them fun stuff like a foam finger or ice cream, she'll have fun!

We don't even ask them if they wanna go, we just take them! DH and I use these girls as an excuse to go do kiddie things all the time. Like for instance when Toy Story 1 & 2 came out in 3-D... of course I called the munchkins and offered to take them cuz I wanted to see it!
