Double Envelopes

I'm looking at ordering Encore invitations that are tea length and I've been told that they don't come with double enveloipes because the outer envelopes open horizontally. Has anyone experienced this, and any thoughts etiquette-wise? Thanks in advance ! :)

Re: Double Envelopes

I think its perfectly fine to have a single envelope. The double envelopes are an old tradition that isnt necessary anymore (much like most of invitation etiquette).

Re: Double Envelopes

My invitations didn't have an inner envelope and no one seemed offended by it.

Re: Double Envelopes

IMO it is your personal preference. There is no right or wrong way.

Re: Double Envelopes

Honestly I got my invitations from Encore, there was an inner and I still don't see the point. The only POSITIVE to an inner IMO is when we are going to a wedding, I put everything; invitation, directions and such back in the inner and take it with us and I don't have to worry about someone seeing or finding our address when we leave it in the car (for the valet). Otherwise inner-shminer not that important IMHO.
