Dressing dh for a formal event.

Original post by MeNBobs

If you were going to a formal event such as a wedding would your dh wear a tie that matches your dress?

I don't mean have the same design as your dress but if you were wearing a green dress would you buy him a tie that had the same color green in it?

here's another idea...

my best friend (jennielovesbryan) had her FH wear a coordinating shirt/tie (she was a BM in my wedding)...

I am glad to see I am not the only one who likes to match. He will be wearing the pink tie!!!!! I love when men wear pink

ETA: Just to prove it's not gay to match his tie to my dress I let him sleep with me at the end of the night

I went to an art school in Manhattan (art and Design Highschool) so I CAN paint..I just don't do it well lol. I'm NOWHERE on your level with painting but thats where I learned alot of my computer graphic skills.

Our first 2 years we did a little bit of everything-3 art classes a day; interior design, cartooning, animation, architectural design, fashion design, etc.

Then junior year you specialized. I just never pursued it but I geuss you can say I am artsy. When I student taughr i was workign really closely with the art teacher and had my damn college not screwed me Id have been able to take over her job because she was leaving that year...BLOWS!

That would be my ideal job I think... I did a mural -hmm maybe I can find it in my pics tonigth. It was half mural half collage? We had to do a rainforest background so I painted parts of it and collages others for the animals. Nothign fancy but the kids loved it.

that's so cool.. How did you get into the HS? My son is in an art school that goes from k-8... Never too early to start thinking about what high schools he's going to apply to!

I have to match everything, so sometimes I just go out and buy him a cool tie to match my dress then go home and lay out all his clothes, so there is no problems. He wont complain unless he cant find something, so I have it all ready for him and off we go.

Absolutely...for my brother's wedding i had a pink dress with a champagne sash. DH wore a black suit with an ivory dress shirt and a champagne and pink (same pink) striped tie. I love to match!!

No, Kevin has a tie that he likes and it looks good on him, if he's happy then I'm happy. Plus he's very tall and has a long torso, so a regular length tie would be too short on him. He has to buy his own clothes to make sure they fit right.

I have this problem with my DH as well... He is 6'6 and cannot wear regular clothes. I cannot shop for him for the most part, and the majority of his clothes have to be ordered online!
We do try and make an attempt to be in the same color family, but it's not a neccesity !
