Duet Albums & Video

Hi Ladies,
Now that the holidays are over I don't really have any other excuses why I haven't picked my favorite pics for my album and songs for my video. Where do I start? I looked at the album form on duet's website and it just says to select your favorite pcitures but how many should I do and should I note whether I want it as a background/photo journalism pic or main pic, etc? I am so lost an not motivated.

Also, for your video how many songs did you pick...did you use your wedding song as one of the selections? If you had baby pics and honeymoon montage how many pictures did you use?

We actually waited until RIGHT before our 1 year anniversary to pick everything - slackers, lol.

First check your contract and see how many pics are included in your album. Then try as best as you can to pick that many pics - if you go over, you may have to add pages and that costs extra (we went over by almost 10 pages I believe because we picked 110 pics and our contract said 70).

We tried to pick the pics that told the story of the day - our favorites from each of these 'categories' or parts of the day:
Me getting ready
DH getting ready
Arriving at the church
Ceremony
Formals after ceremony
Formals at RH
First dance & parents dances
Fun RH pics
Cake cutting, bo-k toss, garter toss


For video songs, this was THE hardest part! We ended up choosing our first dance song as our 'formals picture' song and then other songs for the other parts.

I'm actually getting my proofs today but DH is dropping off our photos and song selections today too so we can get our video sooner. (Im very impatient with things like this! lol)

As for the album, I'm going to fill out their sheet and make notations as to how/where I want the photo (background, etc). We are going to try to stay within the limits of our contract, since more pages = more $$.

For the song selections, I'm a big music person so lyrics are very important to me. We didnt use our wedding song at all! lol

Story of My Life by Bon Jovi to be used for the Preparation chapter

Gotta Be Somebody by Nickelback to be used for the Recap/Highlights chapter

Everything by Michael Buble to be used for the Honeymoon montage chapter

You and Me by Lifehouse to be used for the Formals chapter

As for the photos: I created a montage for the reception so I saved it on a DVD and I asked Sue if they could use it for the baby/dating chapter. She said sure.

I put the complete 40 pictures limit towards our honeymoon photos.
