If I need to handwash something, like a bathingsuit, do I use the same kind of soap that goes in the washing machine or something else?

you could, or you could use woolite (not sure if I'm spelling that right). I think it's made for more delicate fabrics. I'm not much for hand washing things either though, so I don't really know if it's better than regular detergent.
