As you also probably know, my mimacat has Asthma. I think possibly that the dust is exacerbating her asthma, or it could be just seasonal allergies. Anyhow, I think its best that I get a little more dilligent about my dusting habits.
I have this dusting mitt that absorbs it and its machine washable, but honestly, I feel like it just moves the dust around.
Please recommend how you dust and what you use.

Re: Dusting Question/Help
I always used pledge and rags on wood furniture, windex on glass. the dusting mitt is good to push the dust off but I agree I don't feel like it really gets the dust gone. and I use the long attachment on the vacuum a lot for the corners of each room, and ours has a pet hair attachment that i use on the couches b/c my cat is a sheddy beast.

God that seems like sooooo much work. Maybe I'll just lock my cat in the bathroom.

I like the 'swiffers' w/ the spray b/c the dust sticks better..I think it's by pledge

I'll have to invest. I used to have a swiffer on a little pole. I wonder where I put it.

I use a dry cloth and pledge to dust the furniture. I use a swiffer wetjet on our hardwood floors to get dust there. Windex on any glass. Damp rag on all other items. I have severe dustmite allergies

Re: Dusting Question/Help
I use the vacuum to dust the baseboards and the doorframes, I'll even use it on the TVs. To dust my windowsills and wood furniture I use a microfiber cloth that is dampened and wrung out until it is barely wet. I find it picks up the dust better than a Swiffer which just pushes it around.
I also have an air purifier that I run when dusting/vacuuming. It really su cks a lot of stuff out of the air and keeps it from resettling on the furniture.

Re: Dusting Question/Help
I use a duster on the wood and then clean it with an allergy reducing pledge. Dh has bad allergies too. I always wipe the pledge with a rag because paper towels leave too much dust behind.

Re: Dusting Question/Help
Honestly, I have no time for dusting with Pledge and a rag. I've been using the Swiffer for years and I'll never switch. Those things pick up everything. Dust, cat hair, etc.

I have a rug that sheds bad too. I want to ditch the darn thing! Its not shaggy but it has these little hairs and it causes dust balls all over! UGH!

We swiffer the wood floors and use dust off with a cloth on all the furniture.

Re: Dusting Question/Help
i just use pledge ( i like the one in the white can best) and a rag
on the wood floors i use that mop and glow orange clean and swifter dust rags to spread it out - it works better than just dusting the floor
how are those ionic machines? dont they help eliminate the dust?
