I didn't want to do the newlywed chop, but I'm definitely ready for a change. I'm straightening my hair on Thursday! So excited. But someone mentioned that I can't dye my hair once I do this b/c it'll cause too much damage. Has anyone heard this? What dyes would you recommend?

Re: Dyeing hair after Japanese straightening?
You can do vegetable dye. I don't know how your hair is but the Keratin straightening is great you can dye & highlight your hair but it is temporary. The Japanese straightening is great though!Hope this helps!

I know about the Keratin straightening... but I definitely want something permanent. My hair was really curly once upon a time, but now is just a wavy frizzy mess.
Where would I find vegetable dye?

I definitely don't think you can dye your hair if you do the japanese straightening. They won't even do the japanese straightening on you if you have recently dyed hair or even dyed it many times the past year. So if you can't dye your hair before you do this, I don't think you'll be able to after.

I suggest you post this on the fashion and beauty page on lif . . . lots of girls over there have had it done. and would be able to answer your questions.
ETA: Never mind - I see you posted there as well.
