how do you know the person just happened to find it 5 seconds before? For all you know, the person watched the item. I don't bid on ANYTHING until the last few minutes... its strategy. but I usually keep an eye on the item for a day or so.

and it isn't the person bidding a few pennies more. ebay will only allow it to go 1 dollar and a cent higher than the highest bid (i.e your bid) so say you bidded 24.00 on an item and thats the highest bid. If i came in and put in a bid for 55.00, it would only go up to 25.01... something like that.

but if you bid 26.00 MY bid will go higher and higher until you outbid my 55.00... and you are the highest bidder.

get it?

Thats fair enough. See that point but back to MY original point; Its a RANT-called venting. You're taking it like a personal al quaeda attack with defending yourself when it wasnt about you. If you dont like to hear people venting, don't read the thread.

I'm known for putting sarcastic humorous spins on the things I write. Im a writer-its what I do. But you took it out of context it seems from your very first post.

I wasn't being snippy. I was offering a suggestion. You reading a snotty tone of voice into my post and intimating I'm on a 'high horse' is snippy itself, is it not? If what you're bidding on is that important, get an auction sniper. You can beat them at their own game? How is that snippy? B/c I emphasized THAT?

Did I deny Im rolling my eyes over this nonsense for A THREAD I started meant to be a humorous rant? I am because its ridiculous to be arguing over a RANT which has been done similarly buy many other brides.

As for as the THAT yes in our generation fo text emssagign and internet we all know perfectly well to capitalize anythign is makign is a point; yelling, urgent tone etc.

Thanks for reminding me why I don't post as much anymore. I'm sincerely sorry you took umbrage at my post. I'm not, nor was I ever, trying to argue over this at all. I was trying to give you a helpful suggestion to avoid this frustration in the future.

That'll teach me to always read all the replies to a topic first before posting (sorry I don't have time to always do that). Didn't realize it was such a sensitive topic.

good lord - Jen was just being her sarcastic self...are we all really getting serious about an ebay bid??? lol.oooh drama drama drama. don't worry jen - i get it... beat him at his own game...that IS how those crazy ebay bidders (who probably have one of every item packed-ratted into their home just because they're addicted) do it. u just have to be willing to sit at ur computer the last half hour..and i agree - they probably just had a max bid set so the computer SAID that was by a freakin' penny....it probably would've been by a penny no matter what u put had u been under the other's bid. but d amn...it totally su cks...u have full freedom to vent...especially if it was a holiday gift! it's totally annoying

My point about this whole silly mess is that I was NOT SERIOUS! I was being my usual wise @$$ self and 'making noise' as my best friend calls it when you just grumble but aren't upset; mroe grumbling to grumble. I was trying to be humrouos because the whole holiday thing and how frstrating it can be etc..

I understand about the max bid thing. But the fact the bid is won by a penny is the part I was trying to highlight as annoyingly funny. I was never MAD until people started getting personal about it. Most of the girls here know me; Im a smart @$$ but Im also never malicious. This wasn't a 'direct attack' of any kind. I was the one attacked which anoys me because it was over A THREAD that wasn't even serious!
