confession: I'm one of those trolls.... that's how I win all the high pressure bidding wars...
if it's any consolation, they likely placed a max bid much higher than you, and ebay just exceeded your max bid to 1 cent higher....
I would have never have won my sacred coffee pot (krups moka brew) or my 6 pence from 1620 without hardcore bidding warfare tactics.... and yes, many things have been scooped up from under me too..... at literally the last sec.

Sorry Jen! I am too! but I usually wait til the last minute, not 6 seconds!that's only on an item that I figure I might be competing w/ other peeps on.....usually what I buy no one else is looking for lol.

yea when I'm looking for anything Finland related (for my mom or me) pretty much NO ONE in ALL of ebay land is looking for it!!!!! the only time I had to pull up my sleeves and get dirty is anytime I've bought stuff wedding related or shower related (when I threw my sisters & Mimi's over the summer)......damn brides make ebay an ugly place!![]()

oh yeah and it's not that THEY bid one penny higher, I usually bid like 50 bucks higher to ENSURE I win the auction. ebay will only allow it to go one penny higher than the highest bid... so it isn't the person doing it.

I do that. But who's to say the person didn't WANT the item? That;s how you win an auctions for the lowest price.

Just get auction sniper and beat them at their own game if what you are bidding on is THAT important.

Nothing bitter about it. Its just rude. You just HAPPEN to find an item 5 seconds before the bid is over and bid a few pennies more?
