Edit: I finally figured it out! For the ladies who did a donation for their wedding favor, I have a question

I would like to tell everyone a little bit about the organization that we have donated to: the Internation Fund for Animal Welfare.

How would you go about doing this?

Printing it up and rolling it in a scroll and fastening with ribbon?

Furthermore, we are chossing a specific IFAW project, our donation will support one month of complete care for an orphaned bear cub (Not sure if you are familiar with the horrific Russian hunts where in the winter the mother bears are hunted and shot right in their dens as they hibernate, leaving their cubs to starve...obviously, it won't be written like that) but would you include what the donation will specifically accomplishing?

We just attached a little note to some candy but we donated to the American Cancer Society so it's pretty self explanatory.

Since you are supporting a specific cause I would either explain it in the programs or do a scroll that can be left at the place settings.

We donated to the Twin Towers Fund and attached an American Flag pin to the cards that we printed up that had a poem on it.

For you, I would say what the foundation is and just leave it at 'the donation will go to support an orphaned bear cub'.

Otherwise, I would just give the name of the foundation and maybe their website so people can look it up themselves.

We donated to the NYUPD Widows and Children's fund and attached an NYPD 9-11 lapel pin to a card that stated the donation without further explanation but again, if was kind of self-explanatory.

You should do the scroll. They you can write what you want.

For those that haven't seen it on the BHB board, I worked on this donation thing all night long...and I made a newsletter explaining the organization and exactly what the donation will be providing.

We did a donation that was a sponsorship of an animal in need. We had gotten cards printed from the organization (saying a donation was made), and on those envelopes, we wrote the guests names and table numbers for the reception. Those cards were than banded with gold cording to CDs .. and on the inside cover of the CDs, we put a picture of the animal we sponsored, with an explanation of who he is and where he lives .. it was like a mini-bio.

I think it's good to share the message with people .. it will also help to raise awareness of the cause you feel so strongly for .. and may spark a few others to get involved!!
