Edited: please answer, even if it's just a YES or a NO...wondering if your digitals look like mine...

In some of them, the people came out BRIGHT WHITE...any ideas on how to fix it? I ordered them through snapfish AND ofoto, and even with the Kodak photofinish, they still look TOO BRIGHT...

Did this just happen to me, or do other brides also have BRIGHT ones?

That bright spot on their heads is the flash. Its doesnt really matter what kind of camera you use or printing, a flash is always going to create an unatural looking photo.

Professional cameras have features that work around this problem for low light photography (a flash that is covered somewhat or bounced off the ceiling, etc..) My photographers also used light sensitive film so not as much light was needed. And im sure there are lots of other techniques I don't know about.

Those photos can be touched up to make the bright spots not as dark..but it will always be a spotlight look.

It looks like the spotlight. I would ask them to edit it out and argue that it was the photogs fault so it should be free...

Maybe they have cool digital stuff to fix it?

Not at all, and our reception room was dark, with a lot of windows, so I was worried about the flash showing up in the proofs. Only a few (probably less than 5) pictures have the flash reflecting off the windows, and none look like the picture above with the flash reflecting off of the people in the picture. Maybe the picture is just a bit over exposed? I'm sure there is a way to fix it.

There is a way to edit it but if only a few of your photos have this problem, that is to be expected. Even the best photographers don't shoot a perfect photo everytime. Maybe the people in the photo were particularily sweaty and shiny...or maybe they were also being hit by another light (from the dj or the videographer, etc). Every photo has so many variables to it.

But talk to your photographers about it...im sure they can resolve the problems.

Thanks Stef! It's probably about 20-25 photos. I have a total of 1200 proofs, so that's a great ratio.

However, those 25 happen to be of great importance to me. Like the picture attached, they are brother and sister. They were both in the bridal party, and that's the only shot of the two of them together.

There is also me hugging my brother at the altar that prints out VERY bright. It figures, they are all of the shots that are VERY important to me...

This can definitely be improved upon in Photoshop -- pretty easily -- have no worries....

For future reference, even some lof the less expensive digicams on the market today have EXCELLENT color matching, so there is never need to use the flash on a digicam - ever. You would brighten the shot in 'post production' instead -- aka Photoshop. So, if this guy was using a professional digital cam, he definitely did NOT need to use a flash...
