ETA: comment----- If I may ask what did you tip........
Original post by Regal Beagle
your photographer and videographer????
The reason I am asking is because I am going through my wedding proofs and raw video and the video picked up a comment from one of the photographers.
They were amazing that day and I love my proofs and video, but I think it was a bit tacky to let his comment slip on tape
ETA: Some girls FMed me about hwat he said.
Well, he didn't complain on the tape about how much he got because at that point no tips were given out. He just expressed how much' he better get'.
I do not like that he suggested I owed him something for doing his job!!
They were all fantastic, but he should have said it when the cameras weren't on!!! Didn't he think I would hear that??? Thanks

I had the same company as you did, and I am pretty sure that I tipped each of them (3) $50. And of course, they also ate dinner, and dessert from the venetian hour! It seems like from this thread that maybe I tipped on the low end, but I paid an awful lot of money to their company!

Wow, that is really tacky. We tipped the two photographers $50 dollars each and the videographer $50 dollars also.
These people should just enjoy creating their art.

We didn't have a video done. As for our photog, we didn't tip her but she is a one woman show so I doubt she expected it!

I gave my photographer $50, and nothing to the backup photographer who he brought with him because I didn't know he was coming. I hope he gave some to him, but who knows. My videographer I gave $50 to, but it was about $45 too much.

No one says we have to tip anyone!!!
I completely agree. Tips are supposed to be based on service. I hate that tips are expected practically everywhere you go now. Like I go into Starbucks and there is a tip cup. Um - your job is to make coffee. I do not have a tip cup on my desk in my classroom.
I totally agree with you. It disgust me to think that whatever store you go, there is always a tip box but the service *****

Wow...I'm starting to feel like we tipped alot for our Photographer and Videographer. BUT they were GREAT to work with, and they traveled to the Bahamas to work our wedding. We did $150 for the Photographer, and $100 for the Videographer.
