ETA: comment----- If I may ask what did you tip........

your photographer and videographer????



The reason I am asking is because I am going through my wedding proofs and raw video and the video picked up a comment from one of the photographers.



They were amazing that day and I love my proofs and video, but I think it was a bit tacky to let his comment slip on tape


ETA: Some girls FMed me about hwat he said.

Well, he didn't complain on the tape about how much he got because at that point no tips were given out. He just expressed how much' he better get'.

I do not like that he suggested I owed him something for doing his job!!


They were all fantastic, but he should have said it when the cameras weren't on!!! Didn't he think I would hear that???

We did not have a videographer, but I only tipped the main photographer. I thought it was customary that they split the tip, but who knows.

If I had overheard them saying something about a tip though, I would have been turned off to even consider giving them one.

We didn't have a videographer. I know we tipped the photographer between $75-$100. I can't remember exactly what we gave him.

ETA: If I were you I would say something to the photo/video company about what was heard on the tape. It's tacky of them to be saying anything about tip & it's even worse that it was caught on video.

I think we gave them $100 I can't remember exactly. They over charge so much to begin with they are lucky to get a tip.
I can't believe they said something on video. Call them and ask them if they can edit out snide remarks make sure they know you heard it.

OK, so I was right on track. I had three people to tip.


I tipped 85.00 each. I wanted to give more because they did a great job, but I had no change--LOL

Even still, I would have only tipped about 100-120 if I had change. Do they realize weddings are expensive?
they all ate dinner too!

That was a great lesson on the periodic table here is $1.00.
I never know who to tip and who not to tip. I am always worried I will offend someone then I remember I will probably never see them again so I keep my money.

Are you going to call the photographer and tell them you heard what they said?

You see, I felt bad that I under tipped them a bit so I was going to give them a 'Thank You' gift when I returned my proofs. Now after hearing this........


I am not sure if I should say something. I still have to deal with them. I also think it's kind of a normal thing to say. How many times did we say at work 'I should get a raise for this.'?---It is sort of the same thing, but tacky for me to hear it!!!!!!

I am torn because then I keep thinking how much I paid for my photograph/video package and the fact that no one says I have to tip anyone.
I also feel 'Hey, that's you job'


I had 3 people to tip from there not to mention 4 from the DG, Hair/Make-up, Maitree'd, bridal attendent, limos, bagpiper and I know there are a lot more.

i PERSONALLY THINK THAT IT WAS VERY RUDE AND TACKY OF THEM TO COMPLAIN!! F*CK THEM!!! They should be happy with what they received, no matter what the tip was!!

We didn't tip our photographer. OUr photographers were a married couple, who essentially own their own business.
I didn't tip them b/c we paid TOP DOLLAR for their services, and I didn't think it was necessary.
THey did an amazing job....and now I sort of regret not tipping them.

I didn't think you were supposed to tip the photographer. We did tip the band.
