So, on a whim, I called the girl, Rachel, who did my hair and makeup for my wedding, to see if she cuts hair, as well, cuz I need a trim pretty badly.
She told me that yes, she cuts hair, does highlights, lowlights, etc. I asked her what she'd charge for a cut, blow-dry and to straighten my hair... are you ready for this??????????
$20
I think I am in love!!! I am going to her on Saturday afternoon so I will look super cute for Danielle's bach party So excited!!!

Re: Felt the need to share...
Why the heck would I ever go near a salon again when I can get cuts, highlights, etc. for like 1/4 of the price!!! I'm so happy!
If she cuts hair even HALF as well as she did my hair and makeup for my wedding, I will love it!

Re: Felt the need to share...
I get my hair single process colored, cut, blown dry straight, all for $70. I like the way Karen does it better than when I paid over $200 for the same stuff !

I know! I used to go to Cactus in Huntington before I moved to Centereach, and for just a cut and blow out it used to be $55 I think! For highlights, forget it! We were talking a minimum of $150, if not more! This is a pleasure! That's why I flipped out when she told me what she charges

I go to a place in bethpage, and for a shampoo, cut and blow dry it's like $18 ... my highlights are $4 a foil, or $80 for a full head, $40 for a half .. I don't think those prices are bad, but I am so SICK of having to go to the salon every 2 months for highlights. I wish I never started them I hate my natural color, but I am sick of having to go to the salon every 2 months. I am sick of seeing roots. So I am getting it cut on wed. and I think she is going to start adding in lowlights ... and eventually I'll be back to my natural color, this ugly mousy light brown color. But at that point, I think I will use those semi-perm. box colors that wash out to just brighten it a shade or two, or even darker it to a chestnut brown color.

Get the low lights they are heaven sent. With the low lights I can let my roots go much longer then usualy 12+weeks!
