Fiber Q :)

Fiber Q :)

Does anyone take a powder fiber supplement? Or pill?

I'd like to increase my fiber intake and looking for alternatives to FiberOne cereal and foods containing fiber.

Thanks

Hi Ev,
How's the cough ?

Look for a fiber product containing psyllium. It does not cause as much gas as fiber products without it. You are already eating psyllium in your Fiber One cereal.
Adding ground flaxseed to your cereal or to yogurt is also a good fiber source. A teaspoon or two goes a long way.

Just add fiber slowly to your diet to avoid intestinal upset.

hmm, i never tried a fiber powder. i try to get my fiber through 7 grain bread and whole wheat pasta etc.

i feel that it is important to get fiber/protein/vitamans from nature. anything that grows from the ground. it's always the best method.

but i do know that i can always use more fiber/vitamans/and protein in my diet

i use fibercon - and its great. you can't taste it and once it settles you can't even see it.

I pour a little in my water bottle, my morning green tea and my evening chamomile. it does not bother my stomach or make me gassy!

I use BeneFiber and love it. I drink a glass of milk every morning and add it to that - absolutely no taste, no thickening, it's like you didn't add anything at all! I also take Flaxseed Oil pills - I think you're supposed to do 3 a day, but I only take 1 in the mornings with my regular vitamins.

I was having some major tummy issues from Thanksgiving til early February and finally went to the doc. I got put on medication for 3 days and got better, and have been doing the Benefiber and Flaxseed oil since then and I feel much better.

I use the Benefiber also, usually in my green tea daily but I also use it when cooking. I'll sprinkle it in rice or ground meat when I make spaghetti and my family never knows!

Ground flaxseed is good for fiber also. I usually put that in my yogurt. I also make sure I but bread that has at least 4 g of fiber per serving. Martins whole wheat potato bread is a great option as well as WW whole wheat bread.

I eat the Fiber One cereal also and I'll sometimes have a FiberOne bar, but remember (I had to learn this the hard way) If your boosting your fiber intake, make sure you also drink lots & lots of H2O!!!
