It started last THURSDAY...
9:30am MAJOR stomach ache

12:00pm I ate a litte bit and stomach ache gone but I have the shakes Im cold, shivering and feels like I got a fever

Fever last ALL night and runs between 101 and 103. still have the shakes then sweating, then cold, then hot and BODY ACHES, SEVER BODY ACHES ALL OVER, TINGLING AND NUMBNESS and a HEADACHE all over my head but concentrated at the base of my skull.

FRIDAY
9:00am im at my regular physcian... I tell her all my symptoms, she can physically see them anyway and my temp. is at 102, (Fever now for almost 24 hours.) she presses on my stomach and I scream so bad, my stomach is so tender i cant stand anyone to touch it. she says she doesnt have a sono machine and she tinks its appendicitis so she has to call 911 for me

11:00 am im in the ER... take blood and urine tests... and i have a CAT SCAN done... results come back normal, its not the appendix.

12:00 im in sever pain from the shakes and the body aches, numbness and tingling... they give me a morphine drip and I pass out asleep but my fever spikes to 104! they bring it down with tylenol and send me home saying its probably just a VIRAL INFECTION (stomach virus (?)) to drink lots of water and take tylenol or motrin every 6 hours and dont come back unless it gets worse by monday.

the rest of friday, after the ER, I have no more tingling or numbness but my lower back feels like its going to crack and my stomach hurts so bad but still have a really bad headache at the base of my skull and a fever that goes up and down between 99 and 102.

SATURDAY
All day I had that severe headache and lower back pain and stomach ache... I cant even lay down on my back or sides...fever high and low all day

SUNDAY
headache still there im screaming from the back and stomach pain... I HAVE A FOLLOW UP APPT. WITH REG. PHYSCIAN ON MONDAY

I couldnt even sit long enough to write this becasue my back hurts... im in severe pain... if you think its something else based on this post, or somehting I should bring up to the doctor please let me know... is this really a stomach virus? its been 4 days now,...please write back

OMG..thank you for the update. Stay positive and strong. Praying that you have the stregnth to endure all these tests

Oh my goodness Dalia, I am SO sorry for what you're going thru! I cannot believe they can't figure this out! You need Dr. House! Unreal! I have been thinking of you and keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. PLEASE keep us updated!!

Just to let you know, I had a bone marrow biopsy a few months ago and it really wasn't that bad. I thought it was going to be a lot worse, but it wasn't too bad and it didn't take that long to do. I was actually under the impression that the spinal tap was worse (maybe it depends on the person?) and you've already been through that. Good luck, I'm sorry you are going through this and my prayers are with you.

Hi all..

First thank you to everyone for the FM's and good wishes ... especially to the Nurse

SAT. DAY 6 IN HOSPITAL, DAY 10 OF ILLNESS

The doctors refused to let me go home today even though I begged and pleaded and cried like a baby.

Thers is good news and bad news..

the good news.. My white blood cells are at 2.3 compared to 1.4 at my lowest. Thats a good sign. They are RETHINKING THE BONE MARROW BIOPSY.

the bad news...The blood tests show that my enzymes in the liver are severely elevated and its the START OF LIVER FAILURE... The thing is they dont know if its because of all the antibiotics ive been taking (which they now stopped) or my liver is really failing. The normal enzyme count is 10-40 and I have 150!!

Thats why they want to keep me here till TUESDAY to see what happens with the daily blood tests. :( I CANT IMAGINE STAYING HERE TILL TUESDAY

PLease continue to pray for me... Im only 22 years old and I am Very sick... I just woke up one day and this happened to me...im so depressed.

SMALL UPDATE

I forgot to metion that the fever broke 3 days ago so thats also a very good thing...

today if my liver enzymes went down I get to home (but then again thats what they said yesterday)...

please pray that the ezymes were just elevated becasue of the medicine and that they went down...

They said that they might have to send me home and not even figure out whats wrong with me... but thats ok with me at this point.

I'M HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DAY 8 IN HOSPITAL, DAY 12 OF ILLNESS

So today I got discharged and went home around 1:00 pm. I cant EASILY say today was one of the best feelings in the world. I WILL NEVER TAKE MY HEALTH FOR GRANTED, I WILL TAKE BETTER CARE OF MYSELF!!!!!!!!

My white blood cells went from 1.4 at my worst to today at 3.8 (NORMAL) ... IM SO HAPPY... NO BONE MARROW BIOPSY IN MY FUTURE.

The reason they were holding me the last two days was becasue my liver enzymes were too high (signs of liver failure).... could be from ACTUAL liver failure, the VIRUS or just effects of all the meds I was taking. They JUST wanted to see a downward trend in order to send me home... even if it was 2 points... mine went down 10 points!!! SO THEY SENT ME HOME. the normal range is 10-40. Today, mine were down from 150's to 140's... still not where it needs to be but the doctors feel like they think its from the medication and its going to just keep going down on its own.

I have a follow-up next week to get full bloodwork done.

AFTER ALL THIS HEARTACHE they still dont know what exactly was wrong with me.. all they can say is they THINK it was a really bad viral infection.

I am still weak and my arms are all bruised up from having blood drawn everyday and IV's... but I am home and thats the most impt. thing.

Thank you ALL for your good wishes and thoughts.. I really do appreciate it and believe that your prayers helped... thank you.

omg i am so sorry to hear all this!!! i will keep you in my prayers...my aunt got very sick and like you, no answers...it turned out to be lymes disease (might be worth mentioning)....feel better hun xxoo

I don't know how I ran into your post but all I know is that you were in my prayers. After reading your post and the updates I looked at your gorgeous wedding photo's and felt so sad for you.I am very glad you are home and lets all pray that no one else goes through what you went through because I can only imagine how scary that was.
