It started last THURSDAY...
9:30am MAJOR stomach ache

12:00pm I ate a litte bit and stomach ache gone but I have the shakes Im cold, shivering and feels like I got a fever

Fever last ALL night and runs between 101 and 103. still have the shakes then sweating, then cold, then hot and BODY ACHES, SEVER BODY ACHES ALL OVER, TINGLING AND NUMBNESS and a HEADACHE all over my head but concentrated at the base of my skull.

FRIDAY
9:00am im at my regular physcian... I tell her all my symptoms, she can physically see them anyway and my temp. is at 102, (Fever now for almost 24 hours.) she presses on my stomach and I scream so bad, my stomach is so tender i cant stand anyone to touch it. she says she doesnt have a sono machine and she tinks its appendicitis so she has to call 911 for me

11:00 am im in the ER... take blood and urine tests... and i have a CAT SCAN done... results come back normal, its not the appendix.

12:00 im in sever pain from the shakes and the body aches, numbness and tingling... they give me a morphine drip and I pass out asleep but my fever spikes to 104! they bring it down with tylenol and send me home saying its probably just a VIRAL INFECTION (stomach virus (?)) to drink lots of water and take tylenol or motrin every 6 hours and dont come back unless it gets worse by monday.

the rest of friday, after the ER, I have no more tingling or numbness but my lower back feels like its going to crack and my stomach hurts so bad but still have a really bad headache at the base of my skull and a fever that goes up and down between 99 and 102.

SATURDAY
All day I had that severe headache and lower back pain and stomach ache... I cant even lay down on my back or sides...fever high and low all day

SUNDAY
headache still there im screaming from the back and stomach pain... I HAVE A FOLLOW UP APPT. WITH REG. PHYSCIAN ON MONDAY

I couldnt even sit long enough to write this becasue my back hurts... im in severe pain... if you think its something else based on this post, or somehting I should bring up to the doctor please let me know... is this really a stomach virus? its been 4 days now,...please write back

WIth ongoing signs and symptoms that are not yet diagnosable, should have been admitted for observation, blood cultures and scans. Continuous temps, shivers and HA like that usually indicate a severe infection which could lead to sepsis.

Seriously try another ER and insist on being admitted of the S&S continue.

my sister inlaw had almost exactly what your saying and it was a severe kidney infection......hope you feel better

hi ladies ... sorry for being ***.. soooooooo

MONDAY I had my follow up with my reg. doc. and she though it was meningitis like some of you ladies said... she sent me to the hospital AGAIN
this time I INSISTED on a diff hosp. I went to North shore Manhasset.

I get there and they think its meningitis too... they do a SPINAL TAP.. owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. Yeah def, not getting an epidural after that experience. 2 hours later, results come back neg. NO MENINGITIS...

They decicide to admit me and run more tests...

MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY, and now THURSDAY.... IN THE HOSPITAL.... ALL FOR DIAGNOSIS... YES, they STILL dont know whats wrong with me.... they just know what NOT wrong with me....which are:

swine flu
any other flu
cancer
HIV
meningitis
appendicitis
AND MORE....
They are testing for everything and anything ....

ALL TESTs are coming back normal yet I am running a fever for 7 days straight now...it does not go down without meds. I have so much pain im on morphine and perkacet.

only thing they are going off of is that the blood test showed low white blood cells... like 1,000 something when your supposed to have 4,000 something. Also the white blood cells im producing are 'pre mature' white blood cells and they are not maturing so my iimmune system cant fight sh!t.

I'm missing my final for college tomorrow :( I havent been outside in 7 days!

pray for me...seriously... :(

Aw, I'm sorry for everything you're going through. Luckily, many things were ruled out. What about a kidney infection? I hope they are able to find out very soon...feel better.

thankfully my husband brought me the laptop and I just hooked it up to their network... its keeps me busy during the times when im lonely :(

so DAY 8 OF ILLNESS, DAY 5 in hospital

no big changes from yesterday... doctors are still not able to tell me what EXACTLY is wrong.

today I had a sonogram because my stomach has been killing me... pretty much normal except my spleen looks to be a little enarged than normal. (they tell me this stuff but I have no idea what it means or importance).

Also becasue Ive had a headache for 8 days now (today more severe than ever) they did a Head CT scan... to check if I have anything going on there.... ruling out a brain anurism...

They are also doing a MRI to scan my whole body.

Also, today my white blood cells are still not maturing and VERY low...because of the white blood cells they are thinking to do a BONE MARROW BIOPSY tomorrow or saturday :( (THEY DIDNT LIE TO ME AND TOLD ME UPFRONT ITS MUCH WORSE THAN THE SPINAL TAP)

They basically stick a 2 needles into your bone and DIG DIG DIG till they have what they need. oyyyyyyyyyyyy.

I really need your prayers, seriously please!

my priest came to visit me and pray on me yesterday and today.

I really hope you get better! It has been too long; I feel so bad for what your going through and I wish I had the answers. I am so upset that they haven't figured it out as of yet. I am just thinking, maybe a bug went in your ear? then again I would think they would have found this out by now. I would ask them could it be this, that. I hope your able to go soon and hope you never go through this. many 'ers your way. Feel better

You poor thing! I'm so so sorry you are going through this. My sister had something very similar happen to her. High fever, stomach pain, low white blood cell count and they couldn't find anything wrong with her. About a week later all symptoms disappeared and they assumed it was some sort of virus cause nothing else could ever be found. Stay positive and I hope you get some answers soon
