I have realized that everyone handles their finances different. I know what works best for DH and myself (at least for now) and just wanted to get an idea. We went out to dinner with a couple this past weekend and this is where the question came to my mind.
ETS: We have a Joint bank account for our expenses and a joint account for savings.

We have a joint checking account and savings account. When we first put our money together a few months ago we each had separate checking accounts and a joint account. When I changed my name, we put everything in our accounts.

We have a joint checking acct but we have separate savings and checking accts also. Household bills get paid from our joint acct. We each contribute a certain amount to our joint account each month to save and to pay bills with.
Things for us are in flux right now because I have no credit card debt but DH is still paying off his credit card debt, so he doesn't want me to pay for his debts because he considers it 'his' responsibility (I understand where he is coming from, but don't necessarily agree).

We have an joint amex card to put all of our purchases, food and some bills.
