He's such a picky eater and I feel like I constantly make the same things over and over because there are so many things that he won't eat or is not very fond of. All I ever seem to cook is stir-fry, some kind of chicken, some kind of steak, a starch, and broccoli or string beans.
Does anybody else have a picky DH? I've been sitting here for the past few HOURS trying to find new things to cook that he'll eat

Re: Finding things to cook for DH is so challenging
I am the fussy one- my DH will eat ANYTHING, which makes me feel bad because I don't want him to be bored. But he likes to cook, and I have been trying to be a little more open.
Do you have a good cookbook? I have 1001 Lowfat Recipes by Terry Blonder Golson and I love it. Because I am picky too, I find that a lot of cookbooks have things with too many ingredients that I won't like. Even if low-fat's not a concern, you might find some things that are interesting. These recipes are all pretty simple and basic, but tasty.

I have the same problem. If it isn't the same 5 things his mom made over and over again...and it has to have 5lbs of butter and a cup of oil or he won't eat it cause it hasn't been cooked 'right'. Everytime I do try something new, it's always, 'eh.' I can't even say, 'Then you cook!' because then I'd have to eat all the butter, oil, full fat, lardy disgustingness.

I am so sick of cooking the same things over and over again.

We probably have the same 10 things over & over again. Since I've been on *sabbatical*, I try to make something completely new & different from one of my eight billion cookbooks once a week.

I have TONS of cookbooks! That's why it takes so long to make a grocery list But I'll have to check out the one you mentioned since I'm always trying to get DH to eat healthy. Thanks!

This is what DH will usually say too! He'll go, 'eh, it was ok, but it didn't have much flavor' Food doesn't have to be smothered in cheese or have tons of spices to have flavor!

Re: Finding things to cook for DH is so challenging
My DH sometimes will ask me to put grated cheese or butter on top of something. I say 'knock yourself out....' This way, I can eat it my way, and he can add the fatty stuff to it if he wants.
Otherwise, I am very lucky because he is not a picky eater. I feel for you - I don't even want to cook a lot during the week as it is. I can't imagine wanting to do it for a 'food critic.'
