I think we have had a post like this before but now that it is getting closer (or passed) what did/are you doing for your first anniversary?
Are you getting each other gifts?

Yea I heard about the paper rule recently. We are going away for the weekend so we purchased a gift certificate for the hotel which is paper

Re: First Anniversary
I'll be traveling a lot in the fall, so we won't go anywhere until February/March 2010 for our one year anniversary trip. We're going to London and Paris as our gifts to each other

Re: First Anniversary
I'll get him something little. I'm definitely not going to go crazy with gifts. It's close to his birthday maybe I'll just combine his birthday gift with his anniversary gift.

well - we are a bunch of lucky kids
we had jet blue miles on our CC so we got 2 free round trip tickets
THEN
BIL's GF's parents (BIL & his GF are coming with us) are part of this vacation club thing... something like a time share, but not exactly that.... so we got an AWESOME deal through their vacation club... each couple is costing $675 for the the whole week... thats not all-inclusive, but still a great deal!!

Re: First Anniversary
we went to mexico in january, a month before our actual anniversary. we moved into our house the weekend before our anniversary, so our actual anniversary was spent unpacking. all we did was get each other cards. the trip was our gift.

Re: First Anniversary
We went to Lenox MA and stopped at the Norman Rockwell Museum
We bought two framed pictures (paper) to hang in our home.
One is of a boy and his dog in the veterinarian's office. My DH is an LVT
One is of a little boy running away from home and a policeman sitting at the counter of restaurant. My DH's father was a policeman.

Re: First Anniversary
Ugh I am going crazy trying to find something really nice and romantic. DH hates B&B so he wants a hotel but I want it to be romantic. Any ideas within a 5 hour radius on NYC please let me know.

MY DH is the same way he won't stay at a B&B. This is exactly what we are doing! We are going for 3 days to this romantic place in NH. I think it is around 6 hours. They have so many activities and candlelite dinner for 2 is included as well as a massage. The rooms come with a fireplace and jacuzzi.
