First time sleeping apart

DH is going on a business trip for 5 days and tonight will be our first time sleeping apart since we've been married. This is going to stink!

Has anyone else had a first time for this?

Yup. I had a 5 day business trip in January~

At first it was a lot of fun because I got plenty of girl time in with my friends, but I really really missed DH. I felt like it was 1 day too many.

yes!! and the worst part about it... it was when i was in the hospital and i just had the baby!!!! the dad's aren't allowed to stay over! it was terrible!!! you'll be ok! just keep yourself busy and have a glass of wine before bed!! HAAH

DH once did a job in Philly for 6 weeks. At first I was going crazy but then I decided on weekends I would drive there so then it became fun for us!! Find things that you like to do while he is gone and send lots of fun and flirty text messages!!!!

Thanks ladies.

When we were dating and engaged we were in a long distance relationship for 4 years (him in VA, me in NY) so this should really be a piece of cake.

The good thing is that he will only be 2 hours away so I do plan to drive out to see him on Tuesday and Thursday.

Just gonna miss the cuddling... But I will be ok.

Though this is not our first time, it is the first since we have been married. DH is in Jersey for a full 2 week training. I miss him so much. He has been away longer but somehow this feels like the longest ever! I feel your pain.

I hate sleeping apart but then I do all the fun stuff DH hates like do my nails in bed, take a long bath, order in sushi and blast COUNTRY music make it a spa week with all your fav tunes

DH and I have already spent several nights apart since we've been married. I guess because I was so used to living alone, it really didn't bother me. The first night it felt a little strange to be in our house alone, but I got over it very quickly.

I missed him and was happy when he came home but it wasn't such a big deal to me.

Oh practically every week and it still s*cks!!!

I have a travel job where I have to go away part of the week about 3 times a month and it gets REALLY hard. I need to look for a job where I'm not gone so much !!

My DH has been away for 2 weeks on business. The first week I was OK with, I kept myself busy, but the second week was harder, especially being snow-bound for a day. I haven't even been able to speak with him that much because the 3 hour time difference. I know how you are feeling! Hang in there sweetie!! I kept busy by working out. He is coming home late tomorrow night/Tuesday morning. I am so excited.

he didnt go away but sometime he work overnight shifts and I sooooo cant fall asleep to way later then i should....If i have work at 530 and he has work till 12 i wait up for him.....Actually last night he had to work at 12 so i ask my lil bro to sleepover so I am not alone

Sorry. DH goes on business trips pretty regularly and i had to go away a few times go school interviews and stuff. It's not fun, but I do enjoy hogging the bed.

DH husband works nights so this is a few times a week for me....the first time I was staying by myself there was a tornado warning for the next town over.....since then I have pretty much been fine ....Im used to it

Thanks everyone, I appreciate it!

Last night went well. Just watched a movie that he probably wouldn't be interested in watching

I do have enough to do to keep busy such as birthday shopping for him and being able to talk to my mom on the phone about his surprise party without him being around.

It's all good.

PS: Based on how I woke up this morning, it looked like I enjoyed hogging the bed as well!

We do for at least 3-4 nights every week. Its hard but I just try to enjoy the space and the ability to leave the TV on at night.

First time we slept apart since we were married was in september for his brothers bachelor party

it was only for 1 night! i can image 5 days would be hard! well it will be super exciting when he gets home!
