I was wondering since I'm leaving tomorrow I was wondering what u loved about Kauai so I know to do it!!! I got a review from someone on here but I would love other opinions and also if u choose to island hop once u got there?? Thanks

Play it all by ear - Don't book anything before you get there. We rented a convertible and got up early every monirng and just drove around and stopped wherever we thought looked beautiful and fun. BEAUTIFUL ISLAND!! VERY RELAXING. definately have dinner at the Beach House restuant in Poipu.
ENJOY EVERY DAY!!

Where are you staying in Kauai?
I loved Kauai. We winged it too. I loved Wailmea (sp?) Canyon. Very beautiful. One of my favorite spots was in the Hyatt Regency Hotel where we stayed. This hotel was beautiful. We sat in the lobby lounge the first night and had drinks, appetizers and listened to the music. They have entertainment every night. The lounge views the ocean. It was just beautiful and relaxing. In general Kauai was just Awesome.

Do the helicopter ride...It was amazing. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Also, we did a sunset cruise which was pretty amazing. If you also feel like spurging...get massages on the beach. This was like something out of the movies. We were in heaven! Have a safe trip and loads of fun!

when you arrive get the blue book 'ultimate kauai guide'. it's super helpful. my favorite parts were waimea canyon and the botanical gardens. also the saimin stand in lihue rocks. it's no gourmet meal for sure, but it's such a perfect local experience. enjoy every second!!

I would book now because if you wait things will be all booked up.
We did Capt Andy's Catamaran cruise up the N'aPali coast. Was great. The coastal view is amazing. We did the early (6am) cruise but you are on the boat for about 6 hrs.
We drove up to Princeville Resort (we stayed in Poipu) and drove down to the bay that is beyond the resort. Nothing special, just nice scenery. Go in late afternoon/early evening to see the sun set over the horizon in front of the resort - amazing.
Did Kauai Coffee plantation - but not exciting.
There's a water thing (spout? geyser? not sure what to call it) that is kinda neat to see but take you all of 1/2 to look at. That's in Poipu I believe.
Oh and you can do helicopter ride - we didn't (I was too scared) and also hike up to the N'aPali coast (we didn't do that either Im not a hiking gal)
If you are staying there on Kauai the whole time you can island hop - none of the islands take more than 1/2 hour or 45 mins to get to. Oahu takes 20 minutes (and they're not small 15 seater planes either so that's a bit of a relief for nervous flyers)

Oh, I forgot....take a raft ride around the Napali coast - treacherous but a total THRILL!!! Small raft, you're on safety is how tightly you grip the side ropes, and the rough water all around you - AWESOME!!

WE LOVE KAUI... When we were there we did the helicopter ride. I was so SCARED but as soon as we got up off the ground it was the best thing I have ever done EVER it was amazing. We used Ohana Tours.
We ate a restaurant called pizzette ( I think) It was in a little old town by Our hotel. It was better then Italian food here. Drive around.
We drove to the top of Grand Waimae (sp) and that was awesome Except I realized that for somereason i have recently become afraid of hights???? We saw the spoughting horn. We drove to princville.
We drove around and found a sign that said something that started with a W springs. We followed a sign and this is what we got.
HAHA ROOSTERS!! how could i forget. they WERE everywhere!!!

Definitely do the helicopter ride. We did the one with no doors and it was absolutely amazing. Also, we enjoyed the waterfalls. They were everywhere. We spent a lot of time driving to the various ones. They were beautiful!
The pictures of the roosters are hilarious. I almost forgot about them!

We went on a boat tour along the Na Pali coast. It was great--we saw Dolphins, sea turtles. If you like movies, the movie tour was fun.
For dinner, the Beach House was nice. Bubba Burgers is good for a quick bite to eat for lunch. The Pacific Cafe was also nice, and Dondero's.
