For Girls Who Changed Their Name

Ok this may seem like a dumb question BUT when you changed your license did they take your old one back? I want to go on Wednesday since we are getting out of work early, but I am flying to Atlanta the week after and the ticket is booked in my maiden name. So I need my current license to board the plane!

No they do not take your old one! its yours to keep!

They didn't take mine but punched a hole in it. I'm so glad they let me keep it because I wasn't able to change my name at work yet.

Same here. What about your passport? Use that instead.

They took a new picture also. And even though it's a completely new license, it still has the same expiration date. I wonder why....?????

they let me keep mine w/o making any changes to it...I also had a similar situation I was flying to DC and the ticket had been purchased under my maiden name.

Also beware that they take a new pic of you when you change your last name...I was TOTALLY unprepared for that and went looking like a bum in a black hoodie and my hair in a poney tail and friz coming out the sides

NJ let me keep mine and punched a hole it in. I used it to fly...no probs.

They didn't take my old license. They gave me the temp w/ my new name and address but I still have my old one.

Arghhh. The picture on my current license is soooo good. Honestly, I might be one of the only people who have a GOOD picture on their license. I do not want to retake it!!!!

They let me keep my old license. I did have to take a new picture, which I wasn't happy about, considering I went after working with my students all day, meaning I looked like hell. My old picture wasn't bad at all!

They gave me the paper interim license and I'm waiting for my new one in the mail. I also changed the name on my registration and title while I was there.

I 'lost' mine so I didn't have to give it to them...did have to take a new pic though
