Re: For girls who got married at multi-reception venues..
do we really wanna go there?oh yes, I got to see the skank of a bride... she's so lucky she's not a bride on here or else i'd rip into her SOOO BAD!
verdis, 'sweet, oh so wonderful' verdi's (do we sense my sarcasm
)yea, I had STRESSED how I wanted them to control the crowds, there was a wedding in the room next to mine that went from 5-10 (ch 4-5), a sweet 16 down the hall that went from 7-12, and my reception that was 7-12 (I had CH 6-7)
When we arrived I saw the other bride, I said congratulations, you look beautiful... meanwhile, a girl THAT size should NOT be wearing a dress like that.. and her hair- hello are we still in the 70's?
anyway, she SCOFFED at me and mumbled something that sounded like witch....
so whatever...
I saw the sweet 16'er, and wished her a happy birthday, she thanked and congratulated me.
my MOTHER and her friend totally CRASHED the sweet 16- because my mothers friend (from oot) was friends with the DJ, BUT my mother had asked the sweet 16'er if she could pop in and say hi really fast, and she said, 'SURE! come in, and celebrate with me'..
skip ahead... its now 10:30 and I see some drunken sluut with a glow necklace on in MY ROOM... I specifically said NO GLOW NECKLACES (and verdi's knew that)... so I go to tell her to get out, and to my right, just at the door I see 2 more... blocking a girl in white.
well.. I saw red. and started FREAKING OUT! one of the army of skanks told me that the bride just wanted to congratulate 'the other bride, do you know where she is?'
she's lucky my brother and his bff were right there, because I would killed her... they literally held me by my arms so I didn't attack her. while my moh told them to get out.
where oh where was my MD? oh doing shots with my father!
and my BM? outside in the parking lot with the valets...
he got RIPPED an new assshole, esp when my MOH told me she had been coming back from the Bathroom and saw the other bride go up to a worker and say 'can i go in there and congratulate the other bride?' and he said YES and held the door open!!!!!
Oh god, I'm shaking right now just thinking of it.
the worst part, the other groom was a total SWEETHEART, he was out having a cig when DH and I were out there (like 3 times) and he kept congratulating us and telling me I looked beautiful, and he held the door open for me.
at the end of the night, the sweet 16'er and I were sitting in the hallway and I wished her a happy birthday again and apologized for my mother crashing her party, she was the most pleasent girl EVER! she told me it was okay, that it ends up that her mother and my mothers friends sister went to school together and they got to catch up and that my mother wasn't a bother at all and she hopes her friends weren't too loud when they were hanging out downstairs....
I really enjoyed our conversation.
eta- just wanna put this out there, i never had a problem with SEEING another bride... i was told they try not to let that happen, but it does and i really didn't care, i just didn't want her in my reception.
but that dirty little hampster that got I refuse to call a date twin... oh i hope she has explosive diarrhea for the next TWO YEARS!

I take that back I did but at the hotel during a massive screw up on their part where they gave away 90% of her blocked rooms including her bridal suite. I felt terrible for her and her group. My group had about 5 rooms given away. Some decided to bunk together others were shuttles to another hotel. It was a freaking mess!!! There for I do NOT recommend laQuinta in GC. They don't tell you that they have a contract with many of the airlines and should pilots and flight attendants need a room to stay in. Guess what YOU get bumped!!!!!! Just an FYI
Eta: DH and I thankfully didn't have a problem with our room because my SIL checked us in at lie 2:30pm when she went there. Otherwise we wouldn't have had a room either.
We booked with LaQuinta too and had SO many problems. I knew about the pilots and flight attendants because a promise I was made and then taken back. I did write a VERY lengthy letter to the company and got a formal apology from the GM with explanations. He also sent me 2 vouchers to stay at any LaQuinta in the country (for any 2 nights) which I thought was very nice and a free upgrade if we stay in his hotel. DH and I are going to Florida to visit family so one night we're going to do our own thing and stay at a LaQuinta. Another time I'm going to try and get a room in the city for us and just see a show and go to dinner. If I want to go to GC I would just drive there, seems too silly to stay on Long Island for us.
We had a few problems with La Quinta as well. I liked the free shuttle but there were too many problems with blocked rooms. I think it went downhill after Tyleen left.

Oh you mean the free shuttle that on it's first trip told half my guest's to get off this wasn't for them... another would be back... oh and told ME THE BRIDE TO JUST WAIT!!! So there I was sitting outside JT on a cement bench waiting an HOUR for it to come back! My poor BA couldn't leave until I did and the sweet little Rosa stayed with me offering to still hold my bo'k and do anything I needed/wanted... it was late I just wanted her to sit and she couldn't... poor thing

I thought my wedding was the only one, but then my cousin's DH later on mentioned that he asked and was told that there was another big wedding going on on the other side - I was soooooo surprised! had no freakin cluebut if I did see her, not sure if I cared or not but I was pretty pissed off by this point b/c of florist and my fam being all over the place (before the ceremony) so that would've been something else to get annoyed about, u know, just because LOL. otherwise I really didnt care - I looked gorgeous and wanted the whole world to see haha

Re: For girls who got married at multi-reception venues..
Would you believe the only other party was a birthday, which was at 3:00 pm. We had free range of the whole place. We took pics in another room which wasn't mine, but my photographers said it had the best lighting. We took pics of family and guests until noon. We saw many of our guests and we took pics with whoever wanted to. When 6:00 pm came I couldn't believe how quite the place was. I had to look for the birthday party, it was all the way on the other side and upstairs.

don't mean to hijack the thread Colleen but I was reading through the answers out of curiosity and I'm just not sure from this story what exactly the other bride did that was so wrong?
But for everyone else it seems like it was fun to see other brides and kind of have a 'yes its OUR day' moment!

Not hijacked at all!
I think Megan was referring to this:
anyway, she SCOFFED at me and mumbled something that sounded like witch....
This is pretty much the exact reason I didn't go up and congratulate any of the brides I saw on my day. While I didn't care at all, I didn't know if they would freak out and didn't want to get upset.

UGH! That's terrible about the shuttle! Same thing happened with us going home. I ended up jumping in someone's car (a friend of a friend) and went back to the hotel. We had SO many problems! Overcharging the room, loosing things left for people at the front desk, going back on their words, GM hanging up on me, etc etc etc.
I ended up having everything in email so they accommdated me for that night but they informed me that Tyleen mad promises she wasn't authorized to make and that were against company policy. I also think it's inappropriate to give me so much information on an ex-employee.
Like I said they made it right but I still would NEVER recommend them to anyone. They were extremely disorganized and made it seem like they were doing my favor, even after I booked a brunch for 43 people the next day and used 18 rooms on my block!!!!

I answered Yes, but I didn't see another Bride. There was a Sweet Sixteen going on downstairs and I saw the birthday girl and some of her guests. Some people told me that shouldn't have happened, but I didn't really care. She actually didn't look that great, her dress was really tacky!

Re: For girls who got married at multi-reception venues..
Just wanted to throw in that I used LQ too and they were a complete nightmare from start to finish!! They switched group coordinators like 3 times from when I blocked the rooms all the way until my wedding. So, I never knew who to contact! Then I found out that when people were making their reservations...LQ wasn't applying them to my block! They told me they couldn't fix those and wouldnt add those guests to my block! DH called and let loose, so then they fixed it. In the beginning, they even put my bridal suite under another brides block! Uhm HELLO its my block! Also, originally they told me I can pay them $90 each way for the shuttle if I booked less than 15 rooms. Well, we booked 12 and wanted the shuttle...we offered to pay and were then told that they wouldn't let us use the shuttle..even if i paid!!!Also, in our suite, the fridge smelled sooooo bad! It made the whole kitchen area smell like spoiled milk. They sent a handyman to come look at it..he wiped it down and left. NOTHING helped it. So, my BP and I got ready in a smelly room.
Blahhhh! Just wanted to vent too!!!

Re: For girls who got married at multi-reception venues..
I really didn't care. I got married at the Watermill and there was another wedding down there. I didn't hear them nor see them. They even stayed at the same Marriott as us! I did see the bridal party at the hotel and of course, being the snarky b!tch i am, I had to comment on their dresses. The funniest part was that their guest were trying to crash our wedding after theirs was over!

I'm sure there was another bride there - but I didn't see her. Her cocktail hour was going on during mine on the other side of the pool. And what I thought would bother me that day about being at a multi-reception venue - didn't at all!!

honestly no. Our reception was at The Fox Hollow in the Garden Terrace room. They were very particular & made sure we did not run into each other. To be honest i could not have cared less. I feel like YAY we are so lucky to have such a great day & great place. But i did however bump into some of her guests. They were super sweet. They were like oh you look so pretty. etc. I said thank you & please tell your Bride the other bride says best of luck & have a great night. Just so happens the other bride was on LIW too. lol I havent seen her on here since.

I did, but she wasn't a Fox Hollow bride... she was coming over from the local temple to take pictures on the grounds... however, it was during my picture taking slot and I was a Fox Hollow bride... I said congratulations and made her wait to take pictures.
