For Old Times Sake

For Old Times Sake

Bored on a Sunday morning going in work so I'll post a new topic for fun. Just curious to hear how many ladies went to their HS prom. What did you wear? Did you go with a date or friend(s)? Did anything crazy happened? Most importantly, did you have fun? It's crazy how long it's been, I graduated from college in 05' and to rewind another 4 years back to HS, lol.
I remembered getting a dress designed by a designer (FIT ungraduate) and it looked horrendous! The top part was a mint satin top that looked like a BM's dress. The lower bottom was suppose to be a shimmery material in either white or ivory. It got replaced with a black shimmery material. The worse part was paying $250. I went shopping with her for the dress materials. Everything add to less than $50. It's insane how designers make money. I was in the Prom Committee. I had this idea of a Roof top Terrace with a balcony for our prom which would had cut down the cost of the tickets compared to the Puck Bldg (Soho, NY). Our prom coordinator (Chemistry teacher) was lazy and collaborated with another HS and combined our prom together. I end up leaving the prom committee b/c it got really stupid. I didn't go with a date. My ex and I were arguing the week before and he ended up going with a friend. My prom was at the Puck building. It was gorgeous. The food was really bad. Even Chef Boyardee tasted better! I went with my friends and had the time of my life. We went on a after-prom cruise which was ok, and went to a diner at 3am in the morning for breakfast in the village. I'll repost with pics if I find them!

Re: For Old Times Sake

I went to my Junior Prom, my boyfriends Senior Prom and my Senior Prom.

Junior Prom - I ran it. I was completely in charge of decorations and food. (Class President). We decorated the whole room with stars and moons. It didn't even look like our cafeteria. It was amazing. It didn't get the best turn out but it was so much fun. I was nominated for prom queen, but my best friend Erin won, which was great. My dress was totally Hollywood Starlet.

Senior Prom, Junior Year - it was fun because we went with a few of my girlfriends and their dates. My dress was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! My favorite dress to date other then my wedding dress. To bad I can never wear it again, even if I ever got that skinny again I had no boobs and the dress was taken in so it wouldn't fall down. After prom we went to the city to the Jeckyl and Hyde Club, it was still new and exciting then with a line to get in around the block. This dress was from Saks:

Senior Prom, Senior Year - We went on a luxury bus with 21 of my closest friends and 8 more in a limo. We were the class officers so we planned everything, including the location (Majestic Gardens). I loved our senior prom. After Prom almost the entire graduating class did a cruise around NY Harbor. Unfortunately we picked the large boat so we got mixed with another school, it was one from Queens. The two schools were like oil and water, NOTHING alike at all. Then we went back to the senior breakfast to win prizes while my friend threw up under the table. We crashed at her house in the basement. Then Saturday we had a BBQ at my house and went to Ocean Beach for the night. Sunday we took a Coach bus to Great Adventure. This dress came from Angels in East Islip.

I remember shopping foreverrrrrr to find my prom dress - I think my mom and I went to practically every store that sold dresses in Nassau County! It was long and light blue and had some type of embroidery/sequin things on the top half.

Luckily I don't have any pictures.

It was at the Fox Hollow and I was on the Prom Committee, and we were so proud of ourselves bc we did so much fundraising that everyone only had to pay like $10 for it!

Afterwards we went to some comedy club... Governor's maybe? And 7-11.

Ahhh prom. I went to three. Two at my school and one at my boyfriend's.

I wore this gorgeous Cache dress to my Junior Prom.

Then my BF at the time went to another school that year and was a year older than me. I went to his Senior Prom. I wore this GORGEOUS ABS dress. It was STUNNING. I have to find pics. The dress cost my Mom a fortune so I wore it again the following year at my Senior Prom because no one saw me in it.

Junior Prom we went to a comedy club. At my ex's Senior Prom we went to the city. Good times...

Senior Prom we went to the city to a few clubs and then all of us partied at my friend Rob's house.

I am in SC now but when I go home I will scan the pictures. AHHH memories!

Re: For Old Times Sake

I actually went to my senior prom with my DH. Graduated in 2003 He was a pain I wanted him to wear a tux and refused and wore a suit instead. At first I wasn't going to go because I didn't have many friends I was close enough to go with. But last min I decided forget it I want to go. So I went shopping with my mom and little bro who was 13 at the time and he was the one who actually picked out my dress. I dno wat I was thinking it was this blue green dress with sparklen A line. But I loved it then. We were planning on driving to my prom bc like I said didn't talk to to many ppl at my school to go with them which was at marriot marquis in time square. I remembered that night I was getting ready and all of a sudden my dad came into my room and said 'do u want a limo to take u' I was like' how I am leaving in a little' he goes 'don't worry about it do you want one' of course I said yes. Well when I was ready to go there was a limo sitting outside of my house waiting for me. Was such a nice thing my dad did for me. After prom suckkkkeeeddd I ended up inviting friends from my neighborhood to meet up and go to this after prom party. The place ****** so we left and drove around for the rest of night. Until I got home at 5 am
