For those that have made your own photo books....

Lets see, I have used shutterfly, and their prices are really good and they have flexible layouts. I've also used www.kodakgallery.com, and I think I like their final product better, quality wise. They are always running 'specials' (i.e. free shipping, or 20% off, etc.).
My camera is kodak so its just more transparent - my pix are already in the gallery so I can just pop em into a photobook and voila, done!!!

I always go with Picaboo as #1 because I feel their quality is better and they are about the same price as MyPublisher which is the favorite of most people, if you do a leather cover like we did. Their covers are cheaper but per page for big books is 99 cents more than MyPublisher.

The best value is Blurb.com and their quality is great-they charge you flat rates for a certain number of pages; like 20-50 etc. And they have a lot of features similar to Picaboo. BUT their software was soooo difficult to use; never laoded right for me and I kept losing my work.

Picaboo was fast, their cistomer service is FANFAWKIN tastic (they ahd a database glitch with my book so I got it resent to me 4 times and neve rpaid for any of the reprints AND they overnighted them to me at no charge)
and for your first book, you geta 50% off coupon...

Also Picaboo is better for people who want to do more creative layouts than the very basic ones in MyPublisher. They ahve free themes and clipart and its just cool. Also if you make a book you can 'share it' so others can view it and order it themselves without ever troubling you; they order directly.

I am a picaboo girl gor those reaons.

Anytime! I looked at shutterfly and kodak too, but had the same issues as with MyPublisher-too absic for my personal tastes, though now that I make my own layouts it doesnt matter as much. I stick with Picaboo out of loyalty.

I used Shutterfly. I found it very easy to use and the price was not bad. I made 2 and both came out excellent. No complaints.

hey Jenn, I don't know if you are just making extra but.. I just read last night that you have to make an appointment before 3 months to do your albums otherwise they charge you $25 for every month over!!! So I'm like 8 days away, we quickly picked all the pics and I'm calling for an appointment today..

I used Shutterfly for my parent albums- VERY easy. Especially since all of my proofs were already uploaded there- you can just drop them right into their templates. It's not the most creative design but it came out great and they loved it!

I hear My Publisher is good also.

I thought it was going to be so hard, but it wasn't.. I just summed up our entire day with all our fav pics basiclly one or 2 from each part of the day, and thats it. I was shocked i was able to pick 48, and i refuse to spend more $$ cause I'll probally enver look at it. I had put all my proofs in 3 big albums and I look at that so often (thats probally why i knew exactly what pics we both look good in and made the choice so easy) that I use those for us to look at the 48 pic album will only be for guests who want a recap of the day. Did you do the magazine style too?

Hey Jen!!! I just wanted to tell you my experience with my publisher. I had them reprint my books thre times and the large pictures are still fuzzy. THe small pictures look great but the big ones look like mutant people ha they are so pixelated. I recomend trying picaboo I am in the process of making a honeymoon album from them. Ill let you know how that goes. Godd Luck!!! Happy New Year girl

Yes we did magazine style. They really know how to get you when they say pick 60 and we will weed out the rest. They lay all of them out for you and it looks so nice that you don't want to take any way.

if you end up using my publisher.... try these coupon codes... i don't think they expire

WEDDING241
and/or
HOME241

it should give you 2 copies of the same book for the price of 1. (they don't let you do two separate books, it's 2 copies of the same book)
