Anyone who has store credit at Fortunoff, I HIGHLY suggest you use it ASAP...
They are up for sale but it looks like it will become a liquidation store, kinda like what linens and things did..
They are not allowing anyone to use their credit cards, or purchase gift cards...
I dunno, I don't think it sounds very good, so I'm going ASAP to use up my credit

Are prices significantly lower now?
I don't think so... Theres been talk that the jewelry was marked up to make some extra cash...
This is exactly what I thought, that prices would be marked up and made to look like they were on discounted with some sort of % off. I don't really need anything, but I have been wanting the KitchenAid mixer......

What is so weird is i just got a really nice fortunoff catalog yesterday advertising all their gorgeous furniture and just really nice rugs, window treatments.
Weird they would spend money on sending out such a catalog when they are going down the tubes

Re: FORTUNOFF....UPDATE AT THE BOTTOM
Just thought I would add my $.02 to the thread.
Just because someone has decided to sell a business does not necessarily mean they are closing. The current owners spent big bucks to purchase, renovate etc. I would highly doubt they would just close and take such a large loss, especially in today's financial climate. That does not make good business sense - in my not so humble opinion. I would think they would sell it for a great price and move on. A new owner with focus would analyze the situation and make it better than it was before. Like I said, just my $.02!
For anyone with a few extra bucks you can probably pick up a Long Island icon for a steal!

On a separate note the places that are so - called 'going out of business' and doing liquidation sales is a joke and a scam!
As Ron said they will go out under one name and another co. will come in and buy the store. Therefore they are not selling the products below cost so they don't lose their shirt.
Home depot expo is classic for this. They raised the prices last month than went public that they are going out of business. So essentially the 10% discount at FINAL sale is not really any sale.
Did anyone else notice the horrible discount at Linen & Things? Ridiculous!
