Fox Hollow?
My friend is seriously considering using this place for her Feb wedding. She is worried that the wintergarden room is going to be too small for her 140 people wedding. Any thoughts on this or anything else about the place?Anyone know of places like it (windows, hard flooring, etc..) that have a larger room?

Re: Fox Hollow?
We were strongly considering that room, but when I went back to look at it again, I really hated the layout. Most of my anxiety was about the dance floor. It's small, it's on one end of the room, and the bar is on the wall where the dancefloor is, so if you want to get a drink, you are standing on the dancefloor ordering your drink. I guess the waiters can bring you drinks, but still, I just hated the cramped feeling. Also, the only way I liked the setup was if they left the middle of the room empty, with the tables against the two long walls, and the bride and groom against the opposite wall of the dance floor (the wall with the waterfall). In order to have that space empty, I think I was limited to about five tables on each side, which would be 120 people if I wanted 12 at a table, which I didn't love. Also, regardless of how many people they tell you they can fit, I wouldn't put more than 125, but I hate when a room is really cramped. I mean, sure you can fit lots of tables, with lots of chairs, but where are these people going to dance? In their seats?Has your friend gone back to look at it again? It was one of my final choices, I was in love with the room, but when I went back, I didn't love it nearly as much. I think I only loved it so much because I hadn't seen anything like it on LI. (I mainly looked in Nassau, so there might be some place like it in Suffolk)

Re: Fox Hollow?
I know I just ranted about the size of fox hollow, but I ended up booking an even smaller place.
We chose the George Washington Manor in Roslyn, but I'm only having about 110 guests. It has a weird layout too, but it's more my style, I don't know, it's quaint, I guess is a good way of describing it. It has windows, and hardwood floors, but I definitely would not put more than 120 in their room. Here's a pic. Edited to fix pic and say: Another big reason that we booked GWM instead of FH, is that the people at GWM were just nice people, not used car salesman like. (no offense to people who booked FH, but that was my experience)
