Foxwoods Casino

Ladies ! I'm in need of your help again.
I want to take DH to Foxwwods for his b-day. He's off on fridays but works saturdays afternoon. I want to leave Thursday night and come back saturday morning.
Here is the questions, Which hotel do you recommend and why? I think there's 4 different ones.
And which restaurants?

If you think we can do something else, please let me know some options.. Not too expensive please

THANK YOU !!

Re: Foxwoods Casino

I love Foxwoods! I went for my Bach party and I am going again with my sister and DH in Feb. For my bach party we stayed at the Two Trees Inn because it was a little cheaper. It was just a quick 2 minute shuttle ride to the Foxwoods/MGM area and the shuttles run back and forth every 10 minutes all day. It was very easy and convenient.

But for February we are staying in the Foxwoods tower. I think it is a litlte more expensive.

As for restaurants, we ate at a casual place called the Scorpian Bar one night. It was Mexican. Another night we ate at Al Dente...a fancier Italian restaurant. Both were good. Scorpian was definitely not a nice place though...more of a bar scene. When we go in Feb. we are going to try the steakhouse...I think it is called Prime. Also - in MGM there is a Craftsteak!

HTH!

MGM is my favorite... it's the newest one there. We were just there Thanksgiving night and they upgraded two of our rooms to suites... it was AWESOME!

Two different places. Mohegan Sun is closer around exit 76 and foxwoods is like exit 90. I only know since I live about 35mins from Mohegan. IMO Mohegan Sun is nicer, the layout is better and the shops and restaurants are great! However, the new MGM at Foxwoods is really nice. The rooms are beautiful and the craftsteak is awesome!

It usually takes us between 2 and a half and 3 hours depending on traffic... and they have lots of parking garages.

we stayed at MGM right when they first opened. The people at the desk were so nasty! The rooms were nice and clean. DH and I were going to go to the club downstairs, but they had strict rules to get in. One of them was that you cannot wear sneakers and thats all DH packed. So we went to one of the bars, drank for a bit, then went up to our room.

Well the club was so loud and we were on the 6th floor and the club is on the 1st. It felt like we were literally IN the club! I couldnt sleep so we complained. They bumped us to a room on a much higher floor opposite from the club. When we went to check out, they asked how our stay was and we mentioned the noise incident and the woman was so nasty and said, 'well you WERE upgraded so...' DH was like, 'yea well you asked how our stay was and that was our only complaint! We werent looking for anything!'

Needless to say the walls are paper thin so be careful! Im sure our neighbors heard us!
We heard whenever someone opened or closed their doors, anyone who was talking normally in the room next to us, it was horrible!

Like I said the rooms were nice, but service was horrible and walls are paper thin, so be quiet when you and DH are alone

Re: Foxwoods Casino

Went to foxwoods last weekend... stayed in two trees inn... its a bti of a distance from the casino but they run shuttle buses all the time...

Prvious time i went there, i stayed at MGM when it first opened and honestly, i didnt think it was anything special or worth the expensive price tag... plus you had to walk a longgggggggg distance to get to the main casino (but MGM has their own casino... much much smaller downstairs from the rooms)
