Kath let me ask you since you're in shape. whats considered a good time for a mile? I finally got to a 10 minute mile on the treadmill. I want to celebrate for me lol cause thats fast as far as I am concerned but is that good?

No gym for me today but tomorrow and Sunday i hope to go. Ive just been so tired I didnt want to pull something liek I did a few weeks ago-neck still hurts.

haha...i am not that 'in shape'...but thanks I run 10 minute miles...but again...i do more of a slow jog....i see some people whipping down the road & i think...how the heck can you run that fast??? For the test I must run 1.5 miles in 15:56 (for women ages 30-39...being an old fart pays off!)...so it seems like 10 minutes is good!

I worked out yesterday and the day before for the first time in about a month. I'm soooo sore right now! Everything hurts!!! But at least I know that means it's working!

Good idea!
Well, I had 2 good days in a row, but didn't make it to the gym this morning....maybe an afternoon workout in my office gym, but I'm swamped with work right now. If not, I'll be a weekend warrior!

I've been using my treadmill all week ! At least 20-45 minutes each night and eating a lot heathier (and of course less)

Soooo I was so excited this morning when I saw that I lost 3.6 pounds this week

It's motivational when you actually SEE a difference YAY

That's awesome!!!

your freakin lucky!! DH is taking his physical fitness test right now I'm so worried for him. his 1.5 mile has to be done in 11 mins if he was only 6 months older and 30 or over it jumps to 15 mins

me too! he was a freakin nervous reck, the hardest part is he has so many things all one after the other. He says he sure he's going to fail the sprint cause thats last after the run, and his legs and body are like jello at that point, but thats no big deal b/c thats not part of the state mandated thing, so he can just make it up another day when he's well rested. But should he fail anything else (which he isn't-gotta think positive) he has to do it ALL over again, even if its just one thing, which totally stinks.

But you have to pass it to get in right??

Yeah...i have to run...do pushups & situps...if i fail i can re-test in 30 days...if i fail again i am off the list...the good thing was taking my Black Belt test prepared me...there was more running (4.5 miles while wearing a 20lb backpack) situps, pushups & then a second part with my entire ciriculum..and then lots of board breaks & sparring...so i know mentally & physically what to expect...but i am still nervous & not walking in 100% confident I will pass....

You are going to pass! know why? because you wnat it and you are working it. If you could pass the black belt test I know you can pass this. I love our boys and girls in blue but frankly most of them can't run down an ice cream truck much less a crimminal lol. You're going to do great! We're your cheering squad!

Alot of them are out of shape I will admit that, but most of us here could not pass one day in their shoes in the acedemy. It is extremly hard and they work their butt's off. And when you HAVE to chase a criminal down, they do find a way to catch them.
