Fun NewlyWed Question Of The Week....

I usually agree with the registry thing, but I got a couple of baskets that incorportated registry gifts that I LOVE and would definitely do if I can ever think that well.

I got my coffee pot along with small dessert plates and a cookie cook book and coffee.

I also got some table stuff (shaker and such) along with an italian cookbook (DH is Italian and I am Irish) and kitchen towels and such.

Now, I need to remember these types of things next shower I go to.

I would NOT attend a wedding and not even give the bride and groom a card!!!!!

I have to second the person who said when buying gifts get something from the registry.

But I will also add to that thought, if you are not getting a registry gift, at least give something from a national store and not your local crafty gift shop. You might think that the thing is fantastic, but I don't and I don't live in Massachusetts either. We received a menorah that looks like you light the persons fingers on fire with candles. It is really ugly.

Lisa, we too got an ugly menorah as an engagement present! THANK G-D it came broken!!!!!!! It was from my Aunt's friend, who wasn't going to be invited to the wedding anyway, so I told her 'Thank you so much, but don't worry about getting another one!'

What is one thing you got as a gift that you WOULD NOT do to another bride...???

I would not give an obviously used/re-gifted frame as a wedding gift. I would also not say to the bride the next day 'Did you open your gift? If you don't like it you can re-gift it if you want'

I wouldn't attend the shower and say 'I'm broke' and then 'your gift is in the mail' about a thousand times...and then at the wedding do the same. If you're invited, you're obviously special...no need to explain your gift or lack thereof (at least in my world) but lying is just wrong!
