My DH and I share the laundry, but he does it more than I do and complains about it to no end...I just tell him that his clothes are bigger, and he makes more laundry, so he's really just doing his fair share...

In 5+ years of living together, DH has only done the laundry when I was in Eurpoe on business for an extended period. At that - I think he only did items on an as-needed basis.
I average about 8-10 loads of laundry a week...

I do it all. I'm not sure if he even knows how to do a wash and I don't want to find out by him messing up my clothes.
I rather do it myself and do it right.
DH does bring the laundry basket up and down for me, since its usually pretty heavy.

I do it all. he absolutely HATES it. he does contribute plenty though. he cooks and cleans (very well I might add! )

I joke with DH that the only reason he got married is so he would never have to do laundry again.
Yes, I do it all. If I left it up to him, he would just keep buying new clothes instead of learning how to use a washing machine.

i do all of it...which is fine...as a slight control freak, i prefer it done my way anyway...that and he's more than willing to let me

he sometimes will do his own... he wont touch mine though.... or maybe i dont let him... he doesnt believe that you need to sort laundry into different colors.... oh and did i mention that he was using only fabric softener as degtergent for about a year because he thought it was the same thing as detergent but it just smelled better??

This is so me! I'm the control freak with the laundry. He'll get stuff out of the dryer and put things away for me though.

SO AGREE! Once he did his own load, and he shoved all the reds, whites and colors together in a load. My mouth was HANGING open (I am an anal sorter). No way would I let him near my laundry

I'm dying about the fabric softener thing...My DH is really good about doing laundry, but I had to teach him to use fabric softener. Even after I showed him, he did some laundry and it REEKED of fabric softener. When I finally got him to tell me what he did, I found out that he filled the entire Downey ball with softener (you're only supposed to use one little capful which barely fills a third of the ball). I had to re-do all the laundry he'd done because it would've given us a rash...

Before we had an apt with a washer in it we used to BOTH go to the laundromat to do our wash. Now it's 50/50. He's GREAT at helping out with cleaning, etc. He thankfully doesn't see me as his Mother...but as his equal.

Neither one of us does laundr/. Our building has only a few machines and it is ALWAYS a hassel to go down there and do all of the laundry. We drop it off at the cleaners once a week or so and they wash it and fold it for us. I started doing this when I lived alone and couldn't bear spending my free time at the laundromat. So I guess we do the same amount of laundry each week.

I do it all but DH helps me when he is home especially with folding and carrying it upstairs. He works on saturdays so I try to do it then.
