Gaining weight...

Original post by Marnles

Did any of you find you started putting on weight after you got married. I've only been married for 6 months and already find I'm much bigger than my wedding date...

It seems 'I do' went to one thigh and 'I will' went to the other...

Re: Gaining weight...

If only those 'lose weight while you sleep' miracle diets worked!

Yabbo - I know what you mean. I actually figured it out too, and it's amazing how gradual it really was.

Shamma - trust me, hun, I could use the $$...Speaking of which - I have to check my mega millions tickets...

Ugh!

I put on about...gulp...30 lbs since I was married!

I can blame part of it on quitting smoking, but its been a while now and it NEEDS to come off!!!

I will be going to the gym very soon!!!

Re: Gaining weight...

I have been married since april, and I am not sure if my wedding gown would fit now. LOL
I think I tried so hard to lose weight that once the stress of the wedding was over I ate whatever I wanted. I thought I was rewarding myself. Now I am back at the gym! AHHHH

Re: Gaining weight...

Christy I noticed the difference you looked rather lovely.

No one won the Mega Millions I think its up to 115 million now

I think only eating right and staying active will work and some of us need to be realistic, some of us, me included will never be a size 4, it is just not feasible for your frame. Currently I weigh 170 lbs and I am over weight by American's standard, they say I should weigh bet 145 and 160, imagine me at that weight, I would look like a crack head. I am very realistic in what I expect of myself. I judge myself by how I feel and how I look and how my clothes fit me not what the sheet or the scales says. I have not been on a scale in years. Never judged myself by a scale anyway

Re: Gaining weight...

Shamma...that is sooooooo true!!

I always find that the 'chart' weights for my height are soooooooo unrealistic!! I look back at the times that I was in that range and I looked like a stick!!

As long as I feel good and healthy that is fine by me!

Shamma thank you so much!

Re: Gaining weight...

Yes, my chart says I should be a ridiculous amount that I won't even mention.....cause I will never be there again - ever!!!!! My metabolism is starting to change, and I've been very lucky to be thin for a long time - but now if I want to stay on the thin side, I must watch what i eat and exercise - two things I'm not accustomed to doing!

And Erica -
Who was Kate Winslet's photographer??

Re: Gaining weight...

Shamma once again you bring up an excellent point! I was just remined last week (by that quiz YOU posted! LOL) that I'm 10-15 lbs overweight by those charts. I personally cannot see how I could be in the middle of their range, it's just not possible. With my height, I'd look like I was on heroin.
At my thinnest in my adult life, I was just at the cusp of that chart, and it would be a constant struggle to maintain from there!

I'll never be a size 6 or 8, and I'm fine with that. I'd just love to lose about 10 lbs or so and KEEP IT OFF

Re: Gaining weight...

I also gained 30 pounds since Nov. (wedding). Just joined curves yesterday, and have been there now two days in a row....

I am baking brownies right now, though... so don't know how much good the curves is going to do me!

Re: Gaining weight...

Hmmm, let's see. Wedding was 2 1/2 months ago and I think I've gained 2 pounds for each month!! I was pretty thin for me for the wedding, so when it was over, I ate myself silly...and still am!! I also stopped working out but now I'm slowing getting back into it.
