Gift Help

Gift Help

DH's close friend went to Jamaica and got married last week. It was not a big wedding and if we had the money we would have gone but we couldn't. So my question is, I think it is only right that we give him and his wife a gift, but my question is what do we give?

Do we give them cash? If so how much do you
think?

or

A physical gift? If so, what?

TIA

How about change that you might've thrown away?

Kidding.....

Well it's up to you really, I would give what you can afford. Or what about something from her registry? I know after the wedding when people would get me stuff from my registry it was an added bonus!!

hey I never throw away change...lol

No, she is not my friend, the guy is DH's friend. They didn't have a registry. They just decided to make a trip and while they made that trip to get married (being that it would come out cheaper).

We are moving this weekend and just bought new furniture and are spending money fixing the apt. so I wanted to know how much would be okay.

So would $100 or $150 be good?

he told DH, I am going to Jamaica in 3 months and we'll get married over there. Dh thought he was joking, His friend went for someone else's wedding so he planned on a vacation and getting married all in one shot. DH and I would have gone as a vacation and to witness him getting married if we could have afforded it.

Since it was a last minute wedding I think I would buy them an actual gift...

It just seems more sincere to me

this is where I am stuck. what kind of gift would be appropriate for this?

How about a spa certificate?

Like a couples massage? That sounds good to me

or

a nice set of toasting flutes and bottle of champagne?

Re: Gift Help

I voted for $$. Did they come to your wedding?

If it was a good friend I would match what they gave us or I am sure $150 is good too.
