Gift help please

What do you get somebody who just graduated from their surgery residency? I feel like giving money is kind of inappropriate. Any ideas?

I'm curious to hear too! I have a grad. party for someone who just graduated x-ray tech school...and I'm not sure what to give.

i'm not sure how graduations from those types of school go - but what about a gorgeous frame for their diploma??

i like the engraved pen idea too (i once got one from tiffany's)...

I was thinking the pen idea myself (as I'm sure every other guest going to the party is..LOL).

I just had my law school diplomas framed and it cost a small fortune so while I think that's a great idea, it's way out of the price range for what we want to give. But thanks for the idea anyway!

Hum, that's a tough one. What about getting them something to do rather than a gift? How about a gift certificate to a spa or a restaurant?

My ex boss gave me (she's no longer w/my firm-miss her ) gave me edible arrangements. That was the best gift ever.

Actually, my DH is doing his ER residency, and I can honestly say that money is def appreciated haha. The amount of loans from medical school that we have is overwhelming, it's actually a small (and for some people a medium) mortgage! Also, he's been making penuts working over 100 hrs a week for the past few years. I am sure he'd appreciate some cash, I know we would

If you really don't want to do that though, Tiffany's has a really nice cadusus (can't spell it, but it's the medical symbol) key chain that DH has and I love (I want one when I greaduate PA school)
