Where did you go and what was the weather like? Now that we've decided to do London and Paris during the winter break, we want an island vacation. We went on a rainy cruise in August of last year so we're trying to avoid a place where there would be bad weather. I'm aware that Aruba is pretty much nice all year but I'm wondering if we could chance a different place instead since Aruba seems to be pretty expensive.

Well...August is considered high Hurricane season, so pretty much everywhere in the Carribbean is at risk...except for what they call the ABC Island which are Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao (sp???). Just make sure you get trip insurance!

I went to Aruba!! weather was perfect it rained 1 day and they said that normally doesnt happen..
but i would also suggeset cabo! cabo has perfect weather all the time! they dont get hurricanes and it never rains! ive never been on vacation where it didnt rain 1 day, not even for a little bit. The people there basically said it rains maybe 7 times in the whole year, and the rainy time is in january
when we went to cabo it was july!
stayed at the RIU palace in both places and cabo was like half the price of aruba!!!

We went to Mexico at the end of July and had gorgeous weather everyday. I've actually been to the Caribbean 3 times in July and had gorgeous weather each time. Is there a reason u wanna go in August?

We went to St. Lucia at the end of July/beginning of August – it was their rainy season but the whole week we were there we only had one day where it was cloudy/kinda rainy.

We did Hawaii. We had gorgeous weather but the sun was super strong. I got sunburned reapplying 30 at least once an hour within about 3-4 hours.
The weather in the Southern Islands was beautiful but there were a lot of tropical storms hitting Kaui and Oahu.
One of the locals said to me if you go in the summer you should always go to Hawaii (Big Island) or Maui, because they get a lot less rain and storms in the summer. All the Tropical Storms that have ever come through Hawaii hit Kaui the hardest.

We went to Malta and I never saw a cloud. It was beautiful there! We stopped in London and it was super humid and super rainy.

My friends got married in August and they went to Costa Rica....they said the weather was great and they had a fabulous time.

We went to St. Lucia for a week, the 2nd week in August. It rained for 5 minutes early every morning and then it was beautiful the rest of the day. There was people there, but not as many because its hurricane season. We were talking to one of the bartenders at the swim up bar (ahhh memories!) and he said its funny that people are so scared to come out there at that time and that is usually is always nice.

We did Sandals Grande Antigua - & for 1 day out of the 13 we were there did it rain all day.... It's one of the islands where the storms start after the island, not b4 it - so we got very lucky while we were HM'ing... FM me if u want any info - Sandals & Antigua were BEAUTIFUL!!!

We honeymooned in Mexico in late August and the weather really was picture perfect. It didn't rain a single day we were there, nice hot weather, and not a threat of a hurricane in sight. Hurricane season can be a gamble so I wouldn't count the Caribbean or Mexico out, just make sure you get the trip insurance.

We went to Sandals Bahamas and it was great. It rained once or twice at night, but overall, awesome weather. I think we are going to try Sandals Antigua for our 1 year.
