Girls who wore Maggie Sottero- Fabric Question

My dress was organza with a satin underskirt- I noticed on the tag a few weeks ago (i never thought to look before the wedding) that it says:

Materials:

Organza: 100% Polyester
Satin: 100% Polysester

Does MS make Polyester dresses- or did I get a knockoff?

Can someone check their tag-pretty-please

Re: Girls who wore Maggie Sottero- Fabric Question

This is from Wilkepedia:

Organza is a thin, plain weave, sheer fabric traditionally made from silk, the continuous filament of silkworms. Nowadays , though many organzas are woven with synthetic filament fibers such as polyester or nylon, the most luxurious organzas are still woven in silk.

So it can still be organza even if it's not made from silk it seems.

Hmm..I just assumed a MS gown wouldn't be polyester since the retail price was $1500....but I could be wrong.

I bought my dress from Unsavory people and want to make sure I didn't get ripped off since I am STILL waiting to receive the Certificate of Authenticity.

Yes, according to the website you should get one. Did you buy from a registered vendor?

I did not...which is why I'm curious. I heard from the dress shop today and they said I should have it in the mail by Wednesday...so, we'll see.

Why don't you ladies call a bridal shop that carries her stuff and ask what material the dresses are made of?

I don't know, but considering my dress tore twice (both before the reception), I'd like to say that whatever my skirt was made of was CRAP!

How do you know if you bought from a registered vendor? My dress tore twice on my wedding day and I want to complain to MS.

I bought it from Lillette's in Baldwin, but I never got any certificate...

Lilette's is definitely a registered vendor...there is no contact info on the maggie page, unfortunately...they just keep referring people to the vendor.

From the maggie site:

How do I confirm that a store is an authorized Maggie Sottero retailer?

You can verify a retailer as being authorized by finding them on our online store locator. Also, please look for our “Authorized Maggie Sottero Retailer” seal in the retailer's shop window. In addition to the aforementioned steps, your retailer should provide you with a “Maggie Sottero Certificate of Authenticity”. This is a beautiful certificate including an embossed seal, an original serial number, and a place for the bride's name and the name of the authorized store where the gown was purchased.

I'm sorry.

Knowing it's not just me, I'm not sure I can recommend her dresses to anyone... My dress was held together by safety pins all night -- thankfully I have the world's greatest MOH who pinned the dress to look exactly as it did with the stitching in -- HOWEVER, before we noticed, we took tons of photos - and you can see the rips in all of the full-length ones.
