Re: girls with cats/kittens
they're kinda gayDH and I saw them at petsmart a few weeks ago and he jokingly pointed them out.. i was like 'NO!'
but i was just reading about declawing (we dont really want to do it, but she scratches ME- nothing else but ME- funny story to follow)
so as I'm reading this website they said a great alternative to declawing is these softpaw things. so i look into them more.
besides the weird colors, they're kinda cool.

Re: girls with cats/kittens
oooohhh my goodnessss something about the way they look on really cracks me up!Slash is generally pretty good with his claws/scratching although he has basically destroyed ONE piece of furniture...my husband's 'throne'....a Gorgeous brown leather chair. We are holding onto it because 1) we don't have the $$$ to replace it and 2) we figure we'll toss it in an extra bedroom/basement once we have a house.
He goes to town on this thing despite his 7 foot tall scratching post/tower and our disciplinary efforts.
My husband also wrestles with him and slash inadvertently scratches the hell outta his arms....a nice blue set of these would really come in handy for wrestle time too!

Re: girls with cats/kittens
now funny story.so DH and I are laying on separate couches watching tv. i have a thin blanket over me and i rolled my shoulder.
well my kitten was laying on the back of the couch and decided that because something moved under the blanket that she must attack.
she stuck ONE FREAKING CLAW into my shoulder!
i swear to god it was this freaking long:
i was screaming bloody hell!
all i thought about was the part in starship troopers:
well there i am screaming and begging DH to help me and he's laughing at me so hard, telling me to peel the cat off.
i'm like 'shes on my back!'
he thought she was attacking my leg.
omg.... i swear to god she went in and TWISTED!
i have a freaking hole in my back now. (its not huge, but you can see it).
i think we laughed for about 30 minutes.
DH still makes fun of me, and this happened on thursday.
'and in this corner, standing at 4foot, 10 inches tall, weighing in at 115lbs... megan the screamer cipriano
and in this corner, standing at 14 inches, weighing in at 1.15lbs soaking wet, aurora the destroyer!'

if she's not scratching anything then you shouldn't worry about it. i know you said she's scratching you but you have a cat - you will have scratches ALL THE TIME! plus, she's still a kitten... when our cats were kittens they played with our hands like they were toys and we had scratches - lots of them - constantly. she'll grow out of it and it won't be as bad.
eta: i can't see those things actually staying on and working.

Re: girls with cats/kittens
Luckily, Gaby is past her wild and reckless youthful shenanagans
she's too old and chunky to try to attack something. She was crazy as a kitten though and I definitely considered getting her those acrylic tips
I had a cat as a child that we got declawed and I vowed never to do it again. He tip toed around for days and would hold his little paws up to me as if to say 'help meeee'. It broke my pre-teen heart. Don't they rip them out from deep in their paws?? I freak when I break a nail too far down.
