Going away without dh

I'm going to florida the first weekend in june to surprise my mom for her b-day. it will seem so weird to be away without dh. thank god for free long distance on the cell. i'm going to miss him. he doesn't have the time to take off. i'll be gone from fri-mon

has anyone gone away without dh for a weekend

for work- it was hard- but it's not the end of the world

Not yet but I will be doing it this summer...Unfortunately my DH can't get off the same time as me! Plus he travels alot

I went away for a long weekend without him last summer (before we were married). I missed him like crazy, but I had a friend in trouble I was visiting.

Since we've been married, I have not. He does travel quite often for work And I honestly hate that! When we got back from our HM, he left 3 days later for 4 days, and then the following week another 3 days.

Yeah, I went to Florida to visit my best friend a few weeks ago. In a few weeks, I'm going to drop him off with friends in Binghamton and continuing up to Rochester by myself.

Sometimes I just need girl time, you know?

It's not like I love DH any less, it's just that I want to see my friends and he doesn't, so I go without him.

While we were dating we each went away for a week on separate vacations - it was tough to be away from each other, but I plan to do a weekend away from him soon. I love him, but space is nice.

I went to a conference and he has gone on work trips and over the summer I'll probably head home to LI without him since he has band gigs almost every weekend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As long as you call each other it will be okay. I went two weeks ago to Boston with a friend and left DH home. We talked everyday and it was okay.

well, we've been apart a lot for 'nights' and stuff. he works midnights so we've missed a couple of days of 'seeing each other' --- actually, i'm coming home tonight and won't see him till tomorrow night..and we didnt see each other today... so i guess that's another day.

it's not bad... distance makes the heart grow fonder!

I'll be going away for a weekend in June for my brother's college grad and I'm also leaving my 10 month old!! I'm going to miss them both so much!

you mean since we were married? yeah, i went on a work conference. i missed him. it was a stressful conference so that made it worse (b/c of laws changing in my field and learning what the impact will be).

Our friends are getting married the same day in June. (They were a GM and BM in our wedding) One is in upstate NY and the other in Cape Cod. It's our first wedding as a married couple, yet we'll be going stag. No matter what, weekends apart do stink. But seeing each other after the weekend should be good!

I've thought about taking a trip w/o my DH, but I don't think I can.

I have a lot more vacation time than he does (3 weeks more! ) and I REALLY want to go to CA to visit my sister. but I don't think I can leave him

We do it all the time. I work weekends so he sometimes goes home to Boston. Occasionally I go visit my friends in Florida and Maryland. A little time apart is good for us. We always have happy homecomings

I havent gone away without him but he has gone away without me. I liked having the place to myself. I lived alone for a long time so it was like old times BEFORE him.

I just got home on Monday!

I went to TX last thurs to visit relatives, came back mon evening but DH had to leave mon morning for a work conference and just returned on fri. So we were apart for 8 days. It sucked and I missed him but it was nice for each of us to have some alone time. Sometimes you need a little of that!
