Going Green

Since Earth Day was this past week, did you do anything to try to be more eco-friendly?

I already recycle, have florescent light bulbs, but I am wasteful when it comes to paper towels, so I'm trying to go easy on using them.

Anyone else do anything 'green' this week?

I have the florescent light bulbs too, I think they actually make a difference when the LIPA bill comes every month. I wish I had solar panels to heat my house so I wouldn't have to pay for Keyspan

we FINALLY bought the energy saver bulbs.. We recycle, use cloth napkins (90%of time), use less paper towels.

I want to buy 'green' cleaning products, but I have trouble getting past the 'no bleach = no clean' I've always grown up with

OMG, I've been driving my family & co-workers CRAZY w/ my new 'GREEN' lifestyle.

I did the bulbs,
Bought a H2O filter (no more plastic bottles)
Recycle (of course)
Use cold to wash clothes
Bought recycled shopping bags for when I go grocery shopping (no more plastic bags)
And I just bought the 'green' cleaning products.

I'm a paper towel fanatic, so that's going to be tough, but I'm working on it!

I try but I don't think i go above and beyond

I have the bulbs (well I still have a few reg. ones but when they burn out I will replace with the green ones)

I have a big tote bag from Lands End that I bring when I grocery shop, less plastic bags.

I use the other plastic bags I get as garbage bags, so no waste there.

Recycle everything I can including all the paper and junk mail and newspapers.

Take mass transit or walk everywhere (easy for me since I am in the city)

Try not to waste anything - food, paper towels, etc.

Give away old clothes to charity
