Going to a wedding on Friday night...

Since I am no longer a bride I didn't want to post this on BHB. I am attending a wedding on Friday. It is not a black tie (or even black tie optional) but DH is in the wedding party. What do I wear? He will be in a tux so I want to get a 'little' more dressed, but is there such a thing as too dressed? I was thinking of wearing a dress that comes to mid-shin (strapless, etc - as long as it still fits ) Will that be appropriate?
