Good Things. (in our lives)

I was just sitting here thinking about all the good things that have happened for my friends and family since our wedding day ...

My MOH just gave birth to her second on Sunday.

One of my BMs is scheduled for a c-section next week for her second

Another BM (my cousin) is pregnant and due in September.

My cousin's wife is due in June

Our friends are pregnant and due in December

One of our GMs got engaged, wedding next June.

One of my cousins got engaged, wedding next September.

One of my oldest guy friends just got engaged this weekend. I'm sure they have no idea when they wedding will be.

One of DH's friends is getting married in August

One of DH's friends is getting married (we always joked that he'd be the last one, we were wrong! )


I mean, sure life isn't all roses ... we lost my uncle to ALS (it did end *years* of suffering for him and his family though) ... I had to have shoulder surgery (hopefully the end to my problems).


Is anyone else and for all the good things going on around them? What are some of your Good Things?

Since we got married, my sister (MOH) got engaged and found out her & her fiance (GM) are expecting. My niece/nephew is due in July; wedding will be sometime in the next year.

Hubby got several promotions; so proud of him!!

One of our dear friends (GM) and his girlfriend bought a house.

my sister's second baby boy is due in september!!!

my step-son is here for the summer soon!!!

In the past yr my Sil bought a house, we got married, my sister finally got a job, Im pregnant with #3, I got a new momobile, my daughter is doing great in school and a good friend of ours is expecting #3 were doing ok over here

Great thread!

Since our wedding my BIL got engaged (we're in their wedding party).

Our couple we're close to (who were a GM & BM in our wedding) just bought a house.

One of my BMs had a successful surgery to remove a big fibroid from her uterus...there was a chance she'd need a hysterectomy but they were able to remove it and save her fertility.

My mom left the job that she hated (she's looking for something she enjoys much better).

Some good things have happened for us too...
I lost 7 lbs - my goal before the summer!
DH paid off 2 credit cards, I paid off one of mine.

OMG how could I forget? I've worked really hard over the last couple of years and I can now say:

I am officially DEBT FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We both own our cars outright now. DH only has a little bit of school loans left to take care of, but he's at the point of the loan where he's basically only paying principal so its not worth it to us to pay it off as a chunk when we can earn interest on the money in the meantime.

I have DH---enough said!
DH and I are buying a house!!!!
I just got tenure at work.
my Dad retired after working for 50+ years.
We are debt-free (well, besides the soon-to-morthage!!)
All my family and friends are healthy and happy.

I am truly blessed.

oh girl you do not want to ask me....I could fill a whole page w/ the babies & pregnancies for this year.....ok here goes lol......since our wedding:

-my sister bought a house last fall in Levittown

-DH's good friend got engaged- just had his e-party over the weekend

-DH's friend is getting married next Friday, he's a GM

-my bff Mimi had a baby on April 22nd

-my SIL welcomed our 4th nephew into the world on April 30 (which was the 10th b-day of the first nephew!!)

-DH's best friend's wife had a baby on May 10th

-my good friend Jen is expecting a on 8/28

-my good friend Kerri is expecting on 10/23 (don't know the sex yet!!)

-DH's cousin is pregnant and due sometime in August (can't remember the date!!)

-DH's other cousin (the one above's sister!) is due November 4th

-my sister is expecting her 2nd on 11/14!!!!!!! almost 4 years to the day when my niece was born! she finds out the sex next month!!!!

-my SIL (our best man's wife) is expecting on 12/6- she's finding out the sex in July!!

ANDDDDDD we have a wedding in July & September, and I have a bagillion baby showers!!

hey, at least these are all good things to be busy with, it represents all the blessings of the friends & family that we love so much

and I almost forgot- we're taking a 1 year anniversary trip to Florida w/ a mini cruise to the Bahamas in September (as long as the weather cooperates!!)

My Childhood friend (sister for life) is getting married in Sept & I'm in her BP

My best guy friend got engaged and is getting married in 2010

My friend Sarah gave birth to a baby boy

DH got a promotion

My best friend bought a house

My other best friend just got a new job & a promotion and deserves more then anyone

DHs bestman gave birth to a beautiful little girl

A few friends of ours are pregnant

We finished fixing the inside of our house (THANK THE LORD!)

i made it through the wedding drama free (some minor glitches but nothing compared to what i was expecting)

my friend just passed his RN boards!!! i'm very very happy for him

i have finally come to the realization that you can't hold on to things forever and change is good (this was a looong process)


my parents are helping us find a house!!!! (we just can't do it on our own bc of schedules)

speaking of schedules, DH's schedule is finally changing in a few weeks and i'll actually be able to see him!!!!!

My neice is having her first dance recital in a few weeks


My brother met a wonderful girl who I absolutely adore and he told me he wants to marry her!!!! (idk how serious he is, he's only 20....but he's just not a mush, so for him to say this, i guess it means something)

DH and I made a decision that we are going to try for as soon as we are settled in a casa and out of this apt!!

my dog......i celebrate his life every day bc he's a maniac and his last owners wanted to put him down and we saved him.....yes, he's crazy, but he's MY crazy

there are a ton of things that i can list but one of the happiest is that


MY COUSIN CAME HOME FROM IRAQ 5 DAYS B4 MY WEDDING, I COULDNT BE HAPPIER THAT HE CAME HOME SAFE AND THAT HE WAS ABLE TO ATTEND MY WEDDING, I KNOW HES MY COUSIN BUT HE MORE LIKE MY LITTLE BROTHER

*my brother and sister in law had a baby boy in april and we are baptising him in july

*my parents are healthy and my uncle is recovering from his lung cancer - everything looks great so far!

*DH's grandma is recovering well from her heart surgery and we are all set to plan her surprise 80th birthday party!

*I have many weddings left including a 4th of July wedding I cannot wait to attend!

*I am reconnecting with some old friends that I have not seen for a while and it is really like we never parted and i am having a great time planning their weddings with them! I am like the old pro!

*Not only did DH and I adjust to married life quickly - but we are deliriously happy and steadily moving towards our goal of owning a home.

* I being a wife and all that entails, even the mundane details!

*I feel like I am really coming into my own - making important changes and living my life for myself and no one else. . .this is a huge deal for me and a major change!

i had everything going for me.. but now i feel like i have nothing

i have so many friends that are pregnant and while i am so happy for them.. it makes me sad, and upset

*My family is ahppy and healthy

*I am reconnecting with some old friends that I have not seen for a while and repairing broken relationships and feeling good about it.

'* I have made some really great new friends who give me that outlet to vent and regain my sanity when I just need time with the girls.

*DH and I went through soem tough patches but they amde us stronger and we know now we are more committed than ever to making it work and now we can handle anything thrown at us.

* I am finishing school and feeling confident about it.

* Gathering the courage to start my own business and take life by the horns with a little faith and some help from God.

- I am really HAPPY at my new job
- We are going traveling for 2 months in S. America
-DH is back in school and doing awesome
-we are about to completely redo and remodel our house and finally make it OURS!!

Two of my co-workers are expecting

My new buddy is getting married in December

I lost more weight since the wedding and I am close to my goal weight

The new RA meds are helping me-and it is two less injections per month!

We are going on a cruise for our anniversary

I have a handsome husband who loves me unconditionally, takes care of me, and two adorable cats that light up our lives.

My nieces that still refer to me as 'Queen Aunt Michelley'!!!

My siblings and my sweet younger brother who is so cute and helpful and my other younger brother who just started an incredible summer associate job at a big law firm

My parents who took care of me all week while DH was working

My fulfilling job which allows me to use the law to change children's lives and the prospect of achieving my career goal to become a Family Court judge despite setbacks and fighting with my disability. I know that I can do it and it makes me so damn excited!

Oh, and this time next year, my nephew will be a Bar Mitzvah and my sister will be a Bat Mitzvah!


But most of all-My marriage and sharing everything to come with my amazing husband!
