Re: Gown Cleaning & Preservation Anyone?
I sent mine off to WedClean - just got an e-mail from them yesterday that they are taking care of it and will e-mail me when it ships back to me. So far I have been happy with the service.

Re: Gown Cleaning & Preservation Anyone?
I just looked at the wed clean website, how do they prevent it from turning yellowish. They say you can open the box to inspect the dress. Prestigepreservation.com seals it and 'replaces oxygen with an inert gas, reducing the discoloring effects of oxidation' and 'agents are sealed with the dress to prevent mold and mildew'. I called Prestige, there is one in Farmingdale and I can go there and inspect the dress before it is packaged. However, they are much more expensive. My concern with wedclean would be that it's cheaper because it's not preserved correctly? Does anyone have anymore info on this?
TIA, Kelly

Re: Gown Cleaning & Preservation Anyone?
I preserved my gown through the bridal store where I purchased it... they use wedding gown preservation co LINKY it came in after about a month, it looks great... I will take a picture for you once my battery charges... I will say that I did not inspect it because I am afraid that I will never be able to put it back in the way it is now....

It'sall so confusing...I did a bunch of research and some companies say you can never open it since oxygen should never hit it and others say you need to open it to let it air out every so often. I can't figure out what is really right... My dress from wedclean was in a similar box to the one posted. I really wanted to go with J. Scheer but it was just way too expensive!!!

Re: Gown Cleaning & Preservation Anyone?
I just got off the phone with The Wedding Gown Preservation Co.. They too said that you can open the box but not take the dress out. And it won't turn color. Has anyone used them or heard of them?

Re: Gown Cleaning & Preservation Anyone?
I had my dry cleaner do it. It's in a window box just like that and they preserve it the same way. It costs about $140.
