GREAT NEWS!!!!

GREAT NEWS!!!!

So the beginning of last month DH took the last test he will EVER have to take to finish his apprenticeship in Local 3 and become a full Jounrneyman. This means he receives top pay and is no longer treated like someone who doesn't know anything (even though he went to boces for electrical since he was 16 and then Nassau for electrical theray and graduated!

ANYWAY, we were told we wouldn't get the letter to know if he passed until mid-January BUT we got it yesterday!

HE PASSED!!! I cried in his arms so happy for him last night and we celebrated with some Sweet Tea Vodka and some wine! Tonight I'm taking him out to dinner wherever he wants to go and now planning a surprise party for him in March! I couldn't be so proud of DH for how hard he worked to get to this point.

He is first generation with no one before him in this field or union. My dad has been in the union for almost 40 years (I'm in the union but a different division). There was something in my dad's voice last night that made me realize how important and special this time is for Franky as my dad went through all of this. My dad is now a Business Rep and hopes that Franky will one day follow in his foot steps!

I couldn't be happier for DH and I cannot wait to celebrate with him!!!!!

Thanks girls! I'm letting him pick out my outfit tonight and where he wants to go. I hope he remembers it's 28 degrees out and doesn't make me wear a tiny little outfit...that hornball!
