Im trying to grow my eyebrows in since I royally screwed them up by years of plucking. I recently started threading them and while they do get an awesome shape, theyre still too thin for my face and I hate them. I havent threaded them or touched them in about 2 weeks now and theres a lot of hair but I feel like the hair isnt growing where it needs to grow. Has anyone had any luck growing in their eyebrows? Do I need to wait longer is it a lost cause??

Re: Growing in my eyebrows
Hate to break it to you kiddo but some of the hairs may never grow back. Repeated waxing and tweezering LOL can damage the hair follicle and those hairs will NEVER grow back.
I grew my eyebrows out for MONTHS before my wedding. I could have braided those bad boys, but I still had bald spots so I could never shape them how I want.
They are definitely thicker than they were but nothing like Denise's. I covet her eyebrows LOL
I was scared to draw them in, in the summer but I may start when it gets cooler and I won't sweat them off LOL

ive tried a couple time to grow mine out after over-plucking/tweezing (whatever you prefer lol), but ive done the damage already i think. mine doesnt grow in where needed either. i have like little holes in the fuller part, im like where the heck did they go..i never plucked there! i wont fully grow them out bc it starts to look gross with stray hairs in other places so what ive tried to do is grow out just the part that i want to widen (not workin out so well) and still get the stray hairs as often as i need. im trying to taper my over-plucking/tweezing habits a little. and im basically stuck with having to fill them a little when i do my makeup. i hate it. i look horrible without filling a little. my mom overtweezed when she was young too and now hers are so thin and dont grow at all so shes stuck with them. basically that will be me. i was tweezing every day when i did makeup, catching the hairs before they fulling grew out bc i hate that stubble look. clearly i have obsessive tweezing issues.
It's as if I wrote this myself! How funny.

Re: Growing in my eyebrows
Thanks girls. Im gonna just try. For the wedding I grew them in for a while and they looked pretty decent. But, Tilde, I think youre right about the bald spots never growing in. All my bald spots are where I TWEEZED the crap out of my eyesbrows so it makes sense that the follicle is damaged. Ill keep you all updated whether this was a waste of time or not!

thank you, but its a big pain at the same time.
This is gonna sound crazy but when i got laser, they tell you not to wax or tweeze, but to shave it, even for your lip so all the hair grows in. I wonder if shaving a small part under the eyebrow will work since it makes it grow back thicker...it will hurt after to get it waxed

Well, youre not a very good cautionary tale. You could have floss for eyebrows and still look good!

Re: Growing in my eyebrows
Tweezing is not the BEST method for hair removal just the most invasive in terms of other methods except electrolysis and or laser.
Tweezing still damages the hair follicle and can make the hair grow stronger and curlier.
I know your trying to grow them in, I would reconsider the threading bit. It still pulls out unnecessary hairs out that don't need removal that you cannot see with the naked eye.
From what I understand Laser is not 100% perfected yet and also targets more hair on removal and electrolysis does just the single hairs you don't want and can even straighten out the damaged follicle and also make the hair come in lighter. Sometimes it takes 3 to 4 zaps which means treatments to get the hair follicle to die and not come back.
It is a pain but worth the investment for permanent hair removal w/out removing other hairs so they don't return.
I am just recommending filling in with a product called benefit - it is a wax w/a powder till hairs return naturally to wear you want them. Than follow the above. Ofcourse it is all up to you. L- the hair most probably will return in time they could be laying dormant. Hairs will do that, and than they can get stimulated for one reason or another- wake up- than fill in the areas where you want them. I am hard pressed to believe they are gone for good unless you had them professionally removed by the treatments I discussed above.
I have some of my grandmother's info still in the house , I can look up more info on hair growth - FM me.

Re: Growing in my eyebrows
Thanks! I feel like theyre gonna grow in too. My left eyebrow is SOOO FULL right now. But the right one is still with some bald spots. As far as threading, so far its the only method that gets the shape right.

I understand but you have to sacrafice something in order to achive what your looking to create w/out doing more longterm damage. I hope that makes sense.
Threading will make the fine hairs even grow back into the skin so they appear like they are not returning but really they are there you just can't see them and they don't grow long so they just stay there. That is why people think oh they are gone for good. NOT.

try waxing. Plucking is not good bc if you dont get it all at once and have to pull on one hair more than once it damages the roots, also you cant pull a hair by plucking the same way it does with waxing. And by irritating the roots with a tweezer they also can grow back weird. So just stop plucking for now.
might sound weird but what about putting rogaine on the area you want it to grow, you can use a q-tip to do so.
Overall, just know it will take time. It has taken a year for my one eyebrow to start growing back a bit. You would think since she only lasered it once it wouldnt be like this bc it usually takes 4-5 times for the hair to stop growing back. My problem obviously isnt thickness since mine are TOO thick but one eyebrow is shorter than the other at the ends and it annoys the SH*T out of me. And even after a year, only a little grow back and there is still a difference. Just thinking about it, gets me so annoyed that the lady lasered my one eyebrow

I am not sure what exactly your trying to achieve anymore.. Just totally lost Lol. Sorry - Permanent or temporary hair removal. Or growing hairs in.

Posted by Songstress i was so tempted to put some Rogaine on them but I dont think thats a good idea
I know this thread is probably beat to death with suggestions but my aesthetician recommended this to me - I was too chicken to try it, but I take everything she says as the God-given truth.
I will try it now that the wedding is over and I'll let you know how it goes.

Re: Growing in my eyebrows
HAHAH!! Well my original goal was to have full eyebrows with a nice arch. I started tweezing them myself and made them too thin so now my goal is for them to grow in. I will eventually get them done again but I wanna make sure whatever I do, they dont take off too much again!
