Guests who don't give gifts
Did anyone have guests at their wedding that did not give a gift? Did you contact the guests?Did anyone call the guest and say something like - Oh I hope we didn't loose your card/gift but we can't seem to find your card OR
did you just let it go .....

Re: Guests who don't give gifts
Let it go...it's not worth it! I think etiquette says that guests technically have up to a year after the wedding to give a gift. I don't think I'll be getting the gifts within the year, but that's what ettiquette says!

Re: Guests who don't give gifts
We only asked the best man and his wife cause their card was missing. He forgot to bring it from his house so he mailed it.But we had two others who did not give gifts and we didn't ask them since we don't have that type of relationship with them. Whether or not you want to give them thank you cards is up to you.

Re: Guests who don't give gifts
we had a whole bunch of guests not give gifts. We let it go, not worth loosing friends over.

Re: Guests who don't give gifts
i had like 26 non-gifters. most people made good on the gifts except for 4 people in the end. still waiting for one that said it was 'on it's way' and anothe couple gave us 'half of our wedding presnet'
just let it go - it will keep you sane!

Re: Guests who don't give gifts
I didn't ask...I figured if it was lost, they would either be the ones to mention that their check was never cashed or say something when I sent the thank yous just thanking them for being there for the day.

let it go, the know they didn't bring a card. if they forgot, i'm sure they would have sent it to you by now

Re: Guests who don't give gifts
i think at this point, we might have 1 person left that hasn't given a gift but we never even bothered. it's just awkward and not worth it afterwards. i would let it go

Re: Guests who don't give gifts
I had 1 non-gifter. I don't really care, but I hope she gets the hint when I send my thank you card.

Re: Guests who don't give gifts
I had many people that didn't give a gift. We didn't say anything, it was too awkward. A few sent cards right after and said that they 'forgot' it. I didn't send thank yous to guests that didn't give a gift... I did send a thank you to 2 girls in the bridal party who didn't give gifts but I didn't thank them for their gift, I just said thanks for being part of our day. Hopefully they get the hint.

Re: Guests who don't give gifts
I guess I am the only B who actually contacted some people. I just wanted to make sure they weren't lost since we had a bunch. Two people told me they forgot the card and made good on it. One couple said they didn't bring anything since 'they didn't plan to even come, but felt bad cancelling so they came for a little while....'
One person told DH he had the gift at the house and months later told him that his kids broke the gift....LOL
