I found a UPS notice on our door, and DH asked who its for, it only had the last name and i said 'oh its for you'. It took me a couple seconds to realize its my last name too! it was for me! YAY!!!
ugh, still have to call in my credit cards! I just got my new license in the mail last week.

Re: HA.. still getting used to new last name...

A salesman called yesterday and asked for me as Mrs. 'my married name' but he said it wrong also and I told him he had the wrong number a few minutes later I realized he wanted to talk to me!

Re: HA.. still getting used to new last name...

I constantly at work refer to myself as Señorita Fxxx instead of Señora Mxxxx. It took the kids a couple of weeks to realize that I was both people I did that all the way through June and at that point was married 11 months!

Re: HA.. still getting used to new last name...

That's why I went to the new name IMMEDIATELY so I could get used to it right away!

Although wehn I answer the phone at work, everyone except my parents but including my husband (I know - that's weird!!) say 'Oh that sounds so weird - I'm still not used to it'

Re: HA.. still getting used to new last name...

I also made the change pretty fast. The only thing I haven't changed yet is my passport, but no need to do that.
There were a bunch of times where I answered the phone at work right after we got married, and I caught myself saying my maiden name, then stammered and said my married name. I sounded so stupid! But the nice thing about my married name is that it's really easy and nobody has trouble understanding me when I introduce myself. My maiden name is Italian, and NO ONE ever understood me when I'd introduce myself They'd go, 'I'm sorry, what's your last name? How do you spell that?'

I guess...that is the opposite....of me. I had the all American name. Which everyone loves to call me as. But, now my married name people say it sounds like it begins with a letter T. But, it begings with the letter D. Italian as well. So, I have to constanly spell it for people. I only changed my SS# and DMV.

I can't wait to see how crazy I look in my NEW drivers liscense picture at MV because when they was taking the picture, I was so angry because I went on a busy day, plus I wanted to keep my old picture. --They would not let me

Re: HA.. still getting used to new last name...

I know it's still a little strange saying my last name. But I really like being a Mrs. It sounds nice
