Re: Hall cakes

if your hall uses in outside baker, they'll probably give you the option to pay more, but customize your cake

Re: Hall cakes

Is the hall cake made in the catering hall or do they have an agreement with an outside baker?

I know a number of places have agreements with outside bakers. For example, Land's End is owned by Lovin' Oven who also owns Audrey's Bakery who makes all the desserts (including wedding cakes) for all their halls. In addition, they also have agreements with other halls.

I have a picture on my avatar, click on my profile and you will see my cake.

Re: Hall cakes

I used the hall cake...they asked me to bring in some pics of cakes I liked so that we could plan with their baker what I would get. People loved it. It was very tasty & there was hardly any left other than the top for us to take home...this is mine...

Re: Hall cakes

This was mine, provided by the hall, made by Audrey's. It was what I would have wanted had I chosen an outside bakery anyway, and it was delicious!

Re: Hall cakes

I didn't specify anything with my cake. I didn't even decorate it with real flowers. This is probally the most basic cake you would get. it wasn't important to me to upgrade.

Re: Hall cakes

Ours gave us a picture book with the 14 basic cakes they make, but they would match any picture brought in for an additional cost. They also had tons of flavor choices to pick from.

Here's ours:

Re: Hall cakes

I think every hall is different. I wasnt crazy about the cake my site made for me..it wasnt terrible just not what I had hoped. But the cake wasnt a big priority for me so we didnt want to go to an outside baker.

Re: Hall cakes

The cake was so not important to me. I told the hall 'chocolate inside and out, round, and stacked'. Wedding cakes can be absolutely beautiful, but I couldn't see paying more money to upgrade to something fancy.
