Has anyone been to Astoria World Manor in Queens?

Len's cousin is considering them and asked my advice. Any opinions or thoughts?

Thanks

I don't care for it too much Liz, a friend of mine had her reception there.

Hi Liz.

I have heard mixed things about it.

One person I spoke to told me the food was not the greatest.

However this girl I knew went there last year for her brother's reception and she spoke very highly of it.

Based on pics I have seen, it looks ok. I know that it is very affordable.

Re: Has anyone been to Astoria World Manor in Queens?

I have been there for serveral events being my friend uses them for everything (but more like christenings and stuff). Her in-laws speak highly of them. I think she uses them more of a convenience because she lives in Astoria.

It is more of a local place - than a traditional LI wedding facility and therefore you are going to get that feel. I have mixed feelings on the food - sometimes the food was good and sometimes it was just ok.

Re: Has anyone been to Astoria World Manor in Queens?

I grew up in that area, so we went there for numerous functions growing up. Like Niecey said, its more of a local place. If the location is very convenient, im sure its not too bad.

The last affair I went to there was well over 10 years ago. Many of us that grew up in the area, did not chose to have our wedding receptions there. They have changed owners several times, so I really dont know their current reputation.

Maybe you can do a tasting? and see the rooms?

Re: Has anyone been to Astoria World Manor in Queens?

I haven't been there in years but from what I remember the food & service was ok but nothing to write home about. As the girls mentioned above, if they are looking for a local and affordable place....it may work for them.
