We are starting to talk about our 1st Anniversary vacation .... I'm leaving the planning to DH, and he mentioned maybe driving down to Virginia Beach for a long weekend or a few days.
Anyone ever been?
Any other similar suggestions to share?

They do home rentals in all three areas year round. If you do a google search for them, there are tons of realtors/agents that have multiple listings.
Another fun place to go would be the Eastern Shore of MD or down further into VA on the peninsula, down by Chincoteague and Assateague.
We drove down and spent the weekend about 2 years ago. It was a lot of fun. We didn't stay on the strip so it was a little quieter, but we were minutes away. I thought about going down again. I thought the drive would be bad but it didn't seem as long as it was and it was nice to see all of those states along the way.
